Xavier memorial

Post by loftytes »

Just a friend who knew xavier in real life

been looking at everything you have to say and i am overwhelmed by the kindness and love from this group of people i never knew existed. Thankyou all for your respect and friendship to xavier.

On the topic of memorial (garden map, xaviers mods map etc) i thought it would be fitting perhaps to have some kind of award - the Xavier award - for the best mod of the year/most origional mod/most fun mod or whatever. I don't know enough about modding and it is your community. but i think this would be an appropriate memorial for him, and one that would ensure his name continues (after all, rugby has the webb-ellis cup)

just a thought, what do others think? and site admin, is this possible?

Hrm... It could definitely be possible to rename the Mod of the Month to the "Xavier Award", or perhaps we can think of something different to that effect. I'll speak with Gren about this.

I didn't know him but he is missed by alot of people and only if he could come back and given a second chance, then this wouldn't be such a sad forever for his family and everyone here  :(

Xavier Memorial

Post by loftytes »

Thanks guys this would mean alot to me especially after finding out about the whole modding scene - 11 pages of memorial and still going! Hugh touched alot of people and im only sorry i didnt get to know him better. He was obviously very good at what he did, but more importantly he helped others to learn and was very well liked. This would be, in my opinion, the most fitting way to remember him - a master modder but also a teacher as well (plus he was a great bloke!)

I think MotM isn't fitting for a modder of his caliber, I think there should be a Mod of the Year, Named the Xavier award.

R.I.P. my modding brother R.I.P. :( :(

I am touched by the outpouring of support.

To the parents, no one should ever have to outlive their children. It is not fair. My thoughts and prayers are with you along with my deepest sympathies.

And to Xavier, peace be with you my friend. You have truly earned your "halo". You have put many smiles on the faces of Halo fanatics worldwide. I hope you are looking down from the top of the Halo helping the guy upstairs create long awaited and needed MODS for this screwed up and confusing world you once lived in to make it a better place.

I have added the words RIP Xavier to the Halo CE server I run sometimes. I encourage others who run servers to do the same.
