IN THE NAME OF ALL THINGS HOLY ANSWER THIS QUESTION

Post by the_mztr »

Ok I have searched everywhere, posted all over this site, went on IRC, and PMed MonoxideC trying to find the answer to this question. I am extremely frustrated at the unbelievable lack of help I have recieved from the people on this website and I am about to lose my mind.

WHERE IN THE BLUE HELL DO I FIND THE PLUGIN FOR HMT THAT ALLOWS ME TO IMPORT SOUND FILES IN OGG FORMAT?!?

I have posted many other questions as well and gotten no answers to them and ended up deleting the topics 'cause no one replied. I am new at modding and sick and tired of this crap.

well, kind of a problem you have, then
perhaps there isnt one, even if there isnt, perhaps if you try making one yourself

Yes you do need a plugin. I have the same problem and I asked MonoxideC himself how to import sounds and he said they need to be in ogg format and you need a plugin because HMT only allows you to import WAV files.

I talked to mono on a halo server.

Me: How do I add sound to my nuke mod?
MonoxideC: Import the file in ogg format.
Me: HMT only lets me import wav files.
MonoxideC: Yup.
MonoxideC: You need da plugin.
Me: oh
Me: kthx
MonoxideC: np

That is exactly how our conversation went. But now I talked so some other dude on IRC and he said I need to use goldwave, convert my sound to an ADPCM wav file, match the length of the sound Im replacing, and import with HMT.

So far neither option has worked.

Ok, guys. Sry about the first post I was just frustrated. resident3vil, I just got a PM from Monoxide and he said there is no easy way to edit HMT to let it import ogg files. I dont know who you were talking to, but methinks it was not the real Mono. I must've talked to the same guy, and thats the reason for all this. Meh, Ima try using goldwave like you said.

Let me say this - HMT 3.5 does support importing/exporting .ogg, and from there you must have an ogg editor. Right out of the "box".

Oh, and I would judge the likelihood that at least one part of that conversation was edited to be 100%

Ummmm... tell me exactly how to import ogg's with hmt?

And are u saying that I edited the conversation? Cause if you are, that is exactly how it went almost word for word.

IN THE NAME OF ALL THINGS HOLY DONT USE ALL CAPS!

My HMT [when I still used it] was able to import and export ogg with out any plug-in I knew about. Do you have the latest HMT?

Simple: You probably didn't encode the files properly in order to import them back in successfully.

This is true. I need to encode the files in Adpcm format but I do not yet know how do to it. I do know that it has something to do with goldwave. Can someone please give me a tut or a link to one? It would be much appreciated.
