lol were talking about flipping polys as in across the horizontal and vertical axises or actually inverting them?

yes... exactly but first you have to select all faces and then reverse it once and it wil look all black then reverse it again and then export it to 3ds and ten import it

i had to delete alot of "junk" polys and whatnot to get here. should i not have? and whats next? do i have to go and extract all of the bumpmaps, textures, and bitmaps for the chief? i was thinking of just applying a chrome material to the visor and a satin mat for his exposed areas, but let me know what you think.

How the hell did you guys get those perfect UVW's? I'm a noob at modeling, so could someone tell me how?

    browse to the masterchief folder
    now each of the files in there is a mixture of LOD models and different parts to the whole model
    when you open the files up you have to do so in sets in this case every four models is a different LOD
    Be sure to import only one of the LOD's at a time
    this would mean importing masterchief.0.obj-masterchief.3.obj for the smallest LOD and masterchief.16.obj-masterchief.19.obj for the highest LOD.
    Only one LOD detail should be in a scene at a time to prevent you from getting to confused.
    The procedure is basically the same for Miranda, but her model isn't quite the same (no LOD's) she has two uniforms dress and captain and a head model
    something else to note is that all obj files are subdivided into smaller models, for miranda her eyes are seperate from her face etc.
I hope this clears up a little of the confusion, you'll have to find the textures on your own.

ok how exactly do i import them all at once? like if i wanted the full MC model how would i do it

Yosh! Got my rig working, the fingers need to have the envelopes sorted a bit, they still distort the hand a little, but im knackered and will fix it later, im just relieved it worked, took AGES. Bottom one is holding my TAG rifle model (FINALLY!!!)

Hey guys I havn't been here in a while and today is just a drop by. I wont be back til the new year :)
Everyone has progressed so much and this is just a quick lil render of a hog with no bumpmap/textures.. How do i apple a bump? n00b question i kno.

Place the modelLibrary in your Library folder that comes with ADI 1.2C
Now open the List that is also in the Library folder.
No just add "ModelLibrary" (without the quotes, and no #) and hit save.
Then start ADI and on your bottom right you see a button, press right mouse button, and then "show more buttons", now you see the modelLibrary thingy :D

ok guys im sry about this noob ? bu how do i import the all of the files that u get when u extract a MC model i when i do it i get like 19 files or somthing and when i try to import one its just some tiny little dot thingy and i cant import anymore im using 3dsmax if that helps and yes i do have the obj2max thingy

any help is much appreciated


o btw all these renders look amazing i like that TAG gun i forgot who it was that made it but i like it

um coolz, i just got the extractor 2 work, i didnt no it came in peices :(

oh well, i wuz hoping to get a model for my screensaver on my xbox, the dashboard i have runs a rotating model as the screensavor and in can be made to anything u want.

I dont no much about models, and i i dont even have 3dsmax, just gmax

The model has to be a .x file, so how do i go about creating it??? :o
