As soon as i noticed halo PC had banshees in it, i thought of a level where Banshee transportation was the only means of getting to your opponents base. After thinking about that for a while, i noticed that it would probably lag a lot. SO, i have drawn up a little concept thing, and ill post details about that as well..
The general shape of the level would be a U shaped canyon ( in the style of bloodgulch ) with a base on either end of the U, and a large dense mass of fog in the canyon, but not above it. Blue base would contain Military themed weapons, and Red base would contain the covenant counterparts in corresponding locations. Each base would have two little piers on which a gun turret is mounted, along with some cover. Behind these piers is a base, surrounded by defensive objects. Inside the base, which has a large hole in the top, is a hangar containing about 5 banshees per team. Also in the base is a stairwell that leads to the bottom of the base, housing a few rooms with ammunition and weaponry, as well as powerups and healthpacks. Near the ammunition supply area, there is a door leading into the foggy canyon, and the door is elevated from the ground so that merely jumping inside is not an option for the other team ( without something to jump off of ) . Just below this ledge is a small array of ground vehicles and a turret or two, but visibility is thin. The map is fairly basic, and not exactly symetrical like most maps. The way the guns are seperated would make for a more strategical approach, much like that of zanzibar.
THE BASES
-Red: Red base is the Covenant base, with covenant style architecture and weaponry. The defenseive cover objects would be the pinkish covenant shield stands and purple crates. Their ground vehicles would be ghosts ( a few more of them than warthogs, as warthogs are a bit more powerful with a crew )
-Blue: Blue base is the military base, with marine style architecture and weaponry. The defensive cover objects would be those metal stands found on the pillar of autumn level. Their ground vehicles would be the warthogs, and would have banshees as air transport.
I lack any skills in 3DS MAX, so i cant really make it myself, but i would be willing to help with any texturing or beta testing. im available almost all the time on AIM ( Pyromania54045 )
The next post will contain visuals of each floor, as well as an overhead.
Please dont delete this if its in the wrong spot. it took a while to type out and do diagrams for, and it really seems like it would make an awesome map. I would do it myself if i could, but i just cant..
