YOYORAST ISLAND: Potentialy, the best map ever made but...

Well...
I guess modeling toke a while but maybe next try box modeling with the simple extrude and stuff.
Yoyorast must've did something else to get so many open edges.

amapi may not have any welding between the triangles in some places on the main terrain, there are not many ways you can get that ammount of open edges otherwise.

Hey guys!

This boat is destinated to Yoyorast Island map and was originaly created by Dominator, thanks to him, this was already a really good piece of design and now that I've reworked it, I think it's looking even better. I hope you'll like it all... It took me a lot of hours to get it as I wanted. I managed to cut the poly number to the half and redesigned it a bit to make it a bit more aerodynamic...

the boats on that iland hop map were lame

i think when it comes out it will be the best map cuz zanzbar was kinda a letdown (srry for saying that but its true)

the boats on island hop were like realy gay

:) :crazy: Guys I have to say that because of compatibilities problems beteewn diferent 3D applications, We've again been loosing some time... Excalibur has spent a lot of time trying to fix those 13000 open edges (no joke): it was very hard time... but now, after a few try of new convertions between Amapi, carrara Studio, 3dsmax and Gmax ( :pouch!) ...the new files I just sent him are far more clean and he will be able to work it out fast... I knew I couldn't had modeled the map so bad that it had so much open edges, actually it had zero open edges! :cool: Hehe!

Well this is the positive thing for the map itself... but apparently it's not the same for the boat :( :(... In effect Excalibur just told me that he couldn't manage to put the boat in Halo because there were open edges detected and those open edges were not detected in 3dsmax... so we have here a big problem with the boat... If somone has an idea on how to fix it... please help!

Yeah, it had to do with the collision model compilation process. The model and textures compiled fine, just the collision model had problems. Any help would be appreciated.

Well guys here are some pics (really sorry for the bad quality) mainly destinated to Excalibur. These show the 2 ways you can cross to reach the flags depending on your spawning point (there are 2 different spawning points per team (=4). This is to better understand the way it means to be played :grin:... I tought it could interest some of you so I post the pics here...

Well first let's see if your spawning point is where shown on the first picture : You'll have to go to the flag by feet... (as I use to call it, it's "the way by feet")

Well I don't know if you visualize well with those crappy pictures, but here is the rest...

Now let's see the way by hog, you'll take this way if your spawning point is where shown on the next picture:

Well, once you have the flag, you have to leave the hog and continu by feet... refer again to the picture below to see the way you must take in order to score

Note that these arrows only show the ways to reach the flag and score but doesn't show the numerous options you have to hide, snipe and visit other places...
