Rant on "NOOB"

I think that the term Noob, or other such terms, is highly overused these days. When playing in multiplayer I see people be accused of cheating for using the rocket launcher. Some tactics, like tele camping, are downright dirty. But others, like sitting on the tele are fine in my book. And others, like using the sniper rifle while hiding with active cammo, are MEANT to be done. So please, don't call people NooB for not rushing blindly with an empty rocket launcher.

Exactly man, I can't count how many people have either called me a cheater or a hacker or some other lame insult, solely because I kicked their butts in a round. And they only do it so that they can keep living in denial about the fact that they don't have any skill. A lot of people also consider using the rocket launcher once in a round "noobish". Not to mention the number of hosts who have kicked or banned me because I have beaten them in their own game, one even told me he was banning me because I beat him... well atleast that guy was honest. It's not out of hand yet, but it is kind of annoying when it happens to you.

Every game me and my friend play we get accused of the following:

- hacking
- modding
- cheating
- aim mods
- shield mods
- this ones good >>> **pistol noobs**
- Camping with a sniper (IN THE OPEN)

This is what I consider a noob:

- using a vehicle to kill a person on purpose
--- not on the way back with a flag capture hitting people
- trowing grenades (all of them) not 1 and then shooting, chucking all of them like Randy Johnson without shooting off one shot.
- raming people with shees (we play with them off due 2 this)
---Using the shees weapons to kill is ok, but not the nose of the shee.

My friend and I are ulta good and when we play team slayer 2 v 4 we win by an average of 50 - (0-10)

Why not the nose of the shee? Just think about it. You don't find it a tad bit harder to kill someone by spending the time to ram them versus just shooting them?

1) You have to get up close to the person you want to kill, allowing them more time to fire off more rounds into you before you can actually hit them.

2) It is just easier to keep firing those plasma bombs from far away. Master Chief's shield regens slower than the plasma bomb on the banshee, so they will be able to kill you with just 3 shots of the plasma cannon. They can aslo remain at a safe distance from your fire if they can shoot well.

i agree about the noob thing being over used, i tell poeple that all the time, like i use a rocket launcher against a guy and he calls me a noob, i said what because i didn't use my pistol and shoot at you 15 times instaead of ONE FUCKING ROCKET? do the match, im not gonna put my hands up waving around so you can shoot me, the point of teh game is to kill or be killed. If you had a rocket luancher you would probably do the same (or not grab the rocket luancher but tahts YOUR choice not mine), or if i run you over with a hog, HEY its part of the game bungie put it in there so its meant for me to do it. What i consider noobish is ranting about people being noobish. The only thing that isn't good (to me) is when people are hacking or useing exploits such as going out of the map. Other then that its fair game, a good player uses everthing to his advantage!

Ya man, people always complain about hog kills. I don't get it though, they complain about the banshees and I can understand. People abuse banshee's way to much, and considering that they have guns and can run you over is not so cool, but if someone is using a hog in slayer, they can't use the hog guns, only one person per vehicle, so it wouldnt be to hard to destroy the person in the hog. In CTF it wouldn't matter because you could just get your partner to drive around with ya. So basically you just have to be good with nades in order to kill those hog "noobs", and also hope the other guy drives worth shit.

i disagree about the banshee, sure they can fly and have mortor rounds but they aren't that hard to kill, specially with a team. but in halo 2 they have significantly been watered down, they can't really hover anymore, and on multiplayer they can't shoot mortors (at least i havn't figured out how to), so they are easier to take down, plus you can board them (WHICH IS JUST SWEET), i boarded an enemies banshee online the other day with my whole team watching and everybody screamed out "OWNED!" to bad i flew it into a walland got blown'd up.

I don't mind the noobish hog people because like Audio Slave said, they arn't too hard to kill (in fact, they make it easy). I just think it is funny when you kill a person 5-10 times in a row with a pistol then they run for a hog and still lose. Then you get the hacking, cheating, modding, etc crap thrown at you. I can also see running someone over with a hog if they did it to you. I just love the people that when they enter a game run right for a hog and don't care about the people shooting them. But what about spawn killing with a hog (NOOBISH). Just driving around a base running people over as they spawn.

All this I speak of doesn't annoy me because I can take out any vehicle with no problem. I've took tanks out in the past with pistols. I also can stick a plasma nade to anything. I love sticking them to the nose of the shee when ever we play with the shees on. I enjoy their noobishness because it gives me a challenge for a change. Bungie or Microsoft should make a patch where the word "noob" cannot be typed or a patch where the sever operator can mute a player. This would be great.

Lol, it would never work because people can always type newb or no0b or n0ob or nooob or -noob or something that will keep the word from registering as the actual word "noob". Nice idea though man, I would love for some jackass to come into a server and be like "WTF?! Why can't I type noob!"

i agree. . . when i first joined halomods, it was impossible, literally impossible, to find a post that didnt have the term "n00b" in it somewhere

and i dont see whats so bad about camping: in real life u would camp cause u have a greater chance to survive

my greatest moment on halo pc, was in a clan match:

this guy kept getting headshots on me with a sniper rifle, and i kept saying "wtf?!"

he said "they're headshots, maybe u should practice them sometime"

that pissed me off, and i got about 6 or 7 headshots on him and his teammate

the first headshot was when he was skipping around like a little girl and i nailed him in the head right when his feet touched the ground

There is nothing noobish about any of those things...

They are all part of the overall strategy of WINNING...

It's as simple as this, it's an oxymoron to call a person a noob if they beat you. period...

I think even portal campign for kills is a good strategy... know why? Because it pisses off adn frustrates the other team adn draws their attention while your teamates get their flag!

So let them complain while you win.
