I made this model in gmax and it's not exactly good but not to bad but here it is:

I might put this ingame but I don't know how, maybe someone could post a tut?? I am such a newb at modding...


EDIT: Here's a breif explanation of its power and junk:

The PMAC can level a base, roughly the size of one of the BG bases.

When fired it fires a depleted uranium lead shell that weighs about 20 lb. On impact it dig in and detonates flinging debris and radioactive particles everywhere. Its blast radius is roughly 6 ft in diameter and flings debris up to 32 ft in the air! Unfortunately it can only fire 2 times and the cooldown/recharge sequence lasts for about 1 minute so it's best to bring a sidearm with you into battle.

The shells speed is about 100 ft/sec, and produces a sonic boom when in atmosphere.

I've seen it take down covenant dropships in one hit (gotta hit it where it hurts though)! The PMAC is self reloading unless your adding more ammo the cartridge (picking ammo up off the ground) so it is quite effecient.

DUDE AWSOME!!! ITS LIKE THE MAC CANNON FROM HALO BOOK 1 AND 3!!! great job but good luck getting that ingame. textures could use a little work too but that is just friggin awsome.

Yeah I know it's kinda plain but I don't know how to model I just boolean the stuff.

I would do some cool stuff to it but I haven't a clue how... Like I wanted the rings on that cylinder sticking out from it to be round on the edges, but I don't know how to make them sufter.

I REALLY wanna know how to model especially round and smooth stuff, only way I know how to make something smooth is to use vertex and then it's all black and crap with stupid weird junk error and crap all over...


If anyone would like to explain how to do the smooth stuff and junk that would be great.


EDIT: freak I didn't put texture on it, in fact I don't even know how to put one on it!

try out some tutorials googles the best way to go thats where i go when i need a tut.

is it me or does he say that exact thing on every model? lol but its a decent model, id have a handle on the side instead of the top,or id leave the handle on top and put the trigger handle thing on the side. and i wouldnt have the barrel curved :/

id uncurve it, add someonething onto it, like ...oh i dont know squares or something(the magnets) and id put them on top, both sides, and bottom of it, and id have a cylinder going through each series of them. so its gonna look kinda liek this [|||]==[|||]==[|||] you know... i think thadt look cool. once uget this done and ingame id love to have a copy of it. :wink:

I would change the handles completly, it needs to h ave handles which start thick at the top and then extrude to a box, also you could bevel the edges of it to make it look a bit smoother. But its a nice model, and yeah, take off the curve.

umm any one wanna link me to a reference picture of what this is supposed to look like? im lost lol all i see is sumthin remotely close to a flame thrower and a leaf blower jus wondering what it actually is.... i never seen the actually thing that u called it nor heard of it lol :lol:

hey that is looking really good so far. i would however, uncurve the barrel, and make the main squarish mass, well, less squarish. very nice so far though. i'd like to see this in game.

lol 100ft/second-sonic boom. no, way too slow for a sonic boom :lol: . you have to break the sound barrier, which is around 665mph. the shell wouldn't be depleted uranium lead though. they are different metals. the depleted uranium is right on though!

very good story to go with the gun! just fix it up a little as well as the model, and you're in good shape man. :D

okay... 100ft per second you say lets calculate that to miles per hour shall we...

first off there are 60 minits in an hour... which have 60 seconds each...
so... 60*60=3600 seconds per hour...
and to convert that to feet per hour
3600*100=36000
and now for converting feet to miles!
hehe i forgot the conversion rate so i use my handy graphing calcualtor and find out that is!

68 miles per hour

hmm... odd... i voluntairly did math...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa the flood theyre here! help me! im infected! aughhhh

jesus my Air cannon shoots potatoes at 400 fps... crank it up dude...
