Best program for making.....

Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

What do you think the best program is all around for 3d modeling??

Gmax is a free version of 3DS MAX. It works the same, cando most of the things MAX can do, but max is better.

Sorry to burst your bubble... but whoever said that to you is a liar. Max can do 10x the amount gMax can do... if not only for the reason Max is a very very expensive program and gMax is free...

Maya PLE is the full featured version of Maya (Correct me if i'm wrong) or darn close to it. It is free and can be downloaded or it comes with a lot of things, UT2003 for example.

Maya is good, but I prefer 3DS MAX

You can't get them for free, only if you're either:

1. a pirate
2. a lucky sum bitch :P

And we all know what you are... just buy the software people. Workers but 1000s of hours into these programs to receive pay, not a pink slip when the company doesn't make enough money because of a couple kids pirating their work.
