Sound injection and reticle help!

I'm wanting to inject sound into a mod for halo ntsc. What program do i use to do this. The codec i need i already have. Can someone help me?
Also Plenty of people have made tutorials on injecting custom reticles. I can follow them up to the point where you extract them from hmt 3.5. When i try to extract it says: unsupported pixel format: ay8y (or sumthing.)

hmm im not sure about your problem with extracting the sound from hmt, but i would focus on fixing that first
