ok i preety sure i have every thing installed right with my x-bit and i have it flashed. but wen i stick the evox disc in there it wont read it

well you either don't have the disk burnt right or you don't have the external chip bios right.

ok i have the evox 2.4 bios flashed its so yeah i mihgt have to burn it again

read the tutorial thoroughly and you might see that they suggest certain things, i ended up haveing to burn two discs because i didnt read closely :P

make sure you have the dip switch set to the right bios that you used.

Another thing you might want to think about is the fact that there are three different types of DVD drives that come with xbox's, and they all work differently when it comes to reading burned media.

If you have a Samsung drive, a CDRW or DVDR should work flawlessly.

If you have a Phillips drive, DVDR's will work best, and CDRW's will work occasionally (you may have to try it 10 times to get it to work).

If you have a Thompson drive, DVDR's will usually work, but any other media will rarely work.

I would recommend not using CDR's on any drive, use CDRW at least.

xbox-scene has threads on their forum regarding different drives and media that work best together.

It is possible to have burned the cd correctly and it won't work because of this.

However, if this is your first time modding, there's also a very good chance that there is another issue. It took me months to get my first mod working. :)

I've found all 3 DVD drives to read CDRW, but only the Samsung 605 reads CD-R. My modded Samsung 616T kicks butt though. It reads everything.

ok i think i have it figured out maybe i thinks its the contact so im gonna do the wire instalation and see if that works
