Is 3ds Max worth the money?

Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

All Gmax is this;

It's 3d Studio Max with less features and a little different UI. That's about it.

No problem. I don't believe in flaming, because we were all new at one point. Whether we like to admit it or not, we were all n00bs at one time. So I don't want to turn someone away when they could become a good modder one day.

wait! don't get gmax, get the trial of 3ds, and you don't always have to buy it. not nameing any sites or ways to get it, you just don't have to pay the $3000 for the new one
ASPARTAME: in your diet soda and artificial sweeteners. also, it's obviously completely safe. it's not like it will cause tumors or anything. >.>

www.discreet.com

you can find the trial of 3dsmax there. I can't make head-to-toe of how to use 3ds, tho. I can't find any vids in this section either.

3ds Max is only for the people who actually need it (for their job, school, work). gMax should work just fine.
