Well im not updating, geez dont change anything else. This is the map that everyone knocks on my door to play every night! We like the little flying turrets!!!

Hey guys I'm still working on my mod...taking a little longer than expected. I just want to know:

-Should I add a HUD reticle to "the FORCE"?

and

-Should I lower the Background music?

Hey I'm new to this modding stuff I have NMP 1.1 installed and I was wondering what map do I patch for this? Also, what map does it overwrite? Then after patching I just save it as compressed? Thanks.

The ppf file is for BG and it is not in the official NMP map pack yet...so it does not overwrite a specitic map (it can overwrite any one). Yes after patching you save it as compressed to the map u want to overwrite and don't forget to hex edit the file so that instead of "bloodgulch" in the cache file it says the map you are overwriting.

-P.S. the sound will be lowered a little and a HUD reticle will be added to the force...thanx for ur input.

It can overwrite any map from version 1.0......i'm not sure about 1.1 yet. I'll try and figure somehting out, but I think it will be a lot harder to import your own maps into NMP 1.1.


-P.S. DOES anybody know how to change the collision model for the ghost. I made a new model for it, but the collision only takes place in the "ghost frame" and not in the new structures i added. Please i need help with this.

i think its sweet........the only thing i would change is that star wars music..........it gets annoying turning on and off........but otherthan that great job :)

Great idea. I need to beta test. (there is only so much i can do by myself). I tested the mod (the one that is available now) with my friends and I realized that the turret shots need to be faster and the the Assault Rifle was too good and unfair. Lol I also realized that my friends need a HUD reticle for THE FORCE...especially when they would shoot at the ground infront of them LOL.

I'll set up a date for BETA testing. Probably the beginning of next week or something. I'll get 3 other people (not including myself) and we can test it over XBC or something like that. U, spooge, and maybe jkjk or some good modder.

Compressing STAR WARS

Just wondering how to compress Star Wars so I can use it as a map in my very own talored halo. I can't open it in spark edit but I can open it in HMT. I have tried compressing it there but the map didn't load after doing that. I also tried using the same tutorial for the ww3.5 mod and that didn't work either. Some help anybody?

sparkedit works....u just have to wait about a minute for it to load up.....just give it time.

Very nice, just tested it out again and I have a few suggestions for some stuff that jumped out immediately at me.

1. The bg sounds wow, please change that, it made it nearly unbearable to play the mod after about 10 minutes of the same thing, it's sooo busy and just doesn't work for me at all. It's a good idea, I just think it's too in your face, there's a reason it's called background music. :wink: I agree with some of the other guys, I'd say 2 versions one with that current track and then one with just a desolate sidewinder bg track too or something for the people who don't like it the way it is now.

2. The tuscan bow or whatever, I dunno where you got the name from but I think you are thinking of a Wookie Bowcaster instead.

3. The ghost is now nearly impossible to control with that point of view, which is pretty cool looking but wow I think for sake of gameplay it should be moved back to what it used to be until such time it can be made playable.

4. This is a minor minor detail but the string tag for the STAP is enter gunner seat still... What about just Enter STAP or something? Again, thats just nitpicking though.

Everything else is really great though, and I can't wait to see the next batch of updates that you spoke of which were the obvious fixes that need tending too. At first I was opposed to the idea but damn the more I think about it, I really do think that the Wraith reskinned would make a perfect AAT since they are so similar in shape, can't you try and overwrite the scorpion in some way, it's got the model and coll model handed to you, it's too perfect to pass up. Either way, this mod has gone a long way from back when this mod was called "Stabs" or whatever it was, and I really like the death star. Gimme a shout if you ever want me to test anything out for ya. Happy modding!

1=Yes...again with the sound. I'll probably release 2 versions (1 with louder sound and the other with softer)
2=Lol yea i gotta change that "tuscan bow" thing. They did have a bow, but it wasn't made famous, so i'll just change the name to bowcaster.
3=Yea, i know the ghost was VERY hard to drive (especially in 1st person). So i dropped the whole "Gian" theme for the ghost and did a complete remodel into something else.
4=I was thinking whether to switch the name from gunner to just STAP. But i saw no problem with Gunner seat. But i'll change it now.
5=The AAT....yea I agree that the wraith would be good, i'm gonna try modelling the bottom of the tank to look like the Wraith 1st. If that doesn't work, it is just gonna be a tank with AAT skin. (sorry, the Wraith is too much of a PITA to import [it overwrites some of the weapons and stuff]).
Thanx a lot for the input. Every1 please keep sending me suggestions. I'm gonna alpha test on Thursday, release the Beta to u guys on friday-satruday and the FINAL VERSION will be released Monday (in time for CXE).

What about for the wraith tank overwrite the needler / flamethrower / gravity rifle? I'm sure nobody would miss those...
