Creating an elite biped?

Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

Here's the only way I think you could do it.
You'd need HMT, HaloPC, HaloCE, HEK, and 3dsmax (preferably 5, it doesn't actually matter) or Gmax.

Using HMT, extract from a SP mission an elite model. Then extract a Master Cheif model from any MP mission in HaloPC. Then put them in 3dsmax or Gmax, whichever you have, and merge in tutorial.max from HaloCE (HaloCE\data\levels\test\tutorial\models\tutorial.max to be exact) and only select Master Cheif from the dialog that pops up. You should now have an elite model, a master cheif model, and an extremely small master cheif reference model in the scene. Now grab the two you got from HMT and scale them both down (at the same time) until the master cheif you got from HMT pretty much matches with the one from the tutorial map. Then the elite should be the right size for putting in HaloCE. Delete both MC's and save that file and put it away somewhere.

Now open up Guerilla and export the gbxmodel for Master Cheif as a .txt. Then, using this script for 3dsmax\GMAX, import the txt into 3dsmax. Merge in your sized down elite file and move all those reference boxes and spheres so they match your elite. Link the elite to the frame (probably called "frame biped" or something like that).
If you figure out that, texture it (you can get the textures off of HMT, just change them into .TIF) and export it as a JMS. Then fire up the command prompt. Do "tool model (where you exported the JMS)" Then put all the .tif in one folder and do "tool bitmaps (directory of .tif files)"
Then you should have a gbxmodel, and a bunch of bitmap tags. Make a whole bunch of shader tags for those bitmap tags, edit the gbxmodel in guerilla and apply those shaders at the very bottom, and then make a biped tag, or preferably copy MC's, make the model reference your model, but make the animation graph reference MC's graph (it should work since you used all the references from MC in the model), and now you have an elite biped to use. Of course he acts like an MC, but you can make some actor and actor varient tags for that. Or you could even (and easily) make it so everyone plays as an elite.

Of course no one in there right minds wants to do that. Texturing it would be a pain in the ass.

Lol. Forgot. You can always use milkshape to go from OBJ to 3DS. I just hope that you have it. Blender also has one. I'll see if I can find an .obj importer....

OBJ2Max converter:
http://www.cadalyst.net/extras/plugins/ ... j2Max6.zip

Took me 1 minute to find that.

it dosent work
