MVS for HaloCE/PC
=============
NOTE: this is a public ALPHA - thats pre-beta. It WORKS, but there's a LOT of unimplemented features.
Currently only works with Windows 2k/XP, or 98/me if you have SAPI5 installed.
MVS is the Map Voting System for HaloCE and PC. It allows clients to vote for a new map (or to queue a map) on an MVS-Enabled server. See the below Flash movie (with amazing soundtrack!) for more info.
You can get the latest version of MVS below (dont forget there's also a version checker in the about box).

NB to mods - i've havent attached the files, as new versions will be constantly coming out, and it'd just end up eating loads of bandwidth.

This is a great idea. When hosting, I really hate having to ask people which map they want to go to; it's good to see a good map voting system. Keep up the good work!

I've just uploaded a new 0.1.2 build. This one is called Predator.
From the ChangeLog:
0.1.1a -> 0.1.2a
================
- MS SAM is dead (almost - he still announces server MOTD)
- sv_say now used to announce votes
- Netcode was significantly changed. now dosnt loose clients
- Added idiot-proof (not dummy-proof) interface to cut down on server crashes
- Added 'mask' over input boxes, so people don't use it as a chat client
- Made the 'ok' buttons on Nickname and DED window title accessible on <enter>
- Now there is no [[[ChangeMap sent to client. it is always just [[[Vote|||| - uses less bandwidth.
- HaloCE can now be launched from the client!
- Added a 'version checker' to the about box
0.1.2a Zeus -> 0.1.2a Predator
=========
- Added 'Local Commands' form to server
- Added 'Vote level' support to Server
- Fixed some crashes
- Made client less prone to crashing
0.1.2a Predator ->
============
- Get Halo to launch correctly
- Lower CPU hogging keyscanning
- Other stuff
Get it here FallenAngel's Website
I really do need to be alerted to any bugs you find, or any suggestions you have. Check the client about box for contact details!
Thanks.

I know. It does state in the readme that it is designed for 2k/XP.
This is because it uses SAPI 5 to announce MOTD's. 2k and XP come with SAPI5, older versions don't. I'll be releasing a 98/me build soon, which dosn't use MS sam to communicate. Until then, its SAPI5 enabled OS's only

I think this thread can be removed because:
1. All links dont work anymore
2. The MVS has been cancelled
3. The purposes of MVS are being moved into HSE which I can only tell it's name of (which is Halo Server Extensions)
