how do u use this??
my scrn is messed oh well.
I want to know how to use the studio??

ok, is this to create patches, or to use them? because i'm looking for a ppf maker. and if it is for making them, you really need to show me.

Very informative! Can't wait to do my mods in HMT and Sparkedit, then just keep using them back on the Xbox with HCE.

No problem, glad to help! I needed to know how to use PPF Studio a while back and I couldn't find a very clear tutorial on it, so I wrote that one. I hope it worked for you and will work for others aswell. Good luck to you and your modding.

I dont know what on earth i did but my ppf studio has been running but when i make the patch and try to run it, the thing says its not a valid ppf.


Can deleting your computers TEMP files and temp internet files do something to this????


I dont really keep track of things but I dont know what to do now.


I re-downloaded the program too. Still doesent load.

Did you read the Vaults' tute? Make sure you're creating a "general" ppf,and not an Xbox format. Sounds weird i know, but the general one's definitely work for me when I patch maps through HCE or PPF-Omatic.

( or have a site that tells me how to ) take mods from my comp to
my xbox any help would be great if anyone has information

PS also do i have to connect my internet connection to the xbox? ( as if playing on live ) or no?

I need help on the last step of creating a ppf file... It says this error: "ERROR! Files are not equal in size!"

How do I fix this?

Forums.Xbox-Scene.com is chalk full of tuts on how to MOD an xbox and how to FTP files to your Xbox from your computer. As long as you have a MOD chip or a SoftMod, you should be able to FTP using IE or FlashFXP or another FTP program.

To FTP files to my box, I set my Xbox's IP to 192.168.0.3 and my NIC card to 192.168.0.2, set the box's username as xbox and password as xbox and connected like this: ftp://xbox:xbox@192.168.0.3


If any of that confused you, just check out Xbox-scene.com for some nicely written tuts.

Thanks for the compliment on my tutorial. Actually, the only reason I made it was because I had to seek extra assistance to learn how to use the program because I was unable to understand BOLL's (sorry, no offense BOLL). Anyway, glad to see it's helped people!

@Banshee Ace 2, make sure you have your original un-edited .map file, and that your modded one is the same size as the original (as in MB) - meaning that the edited map is a copy of the original, but just a modded version of the copy. If you copy the original, and then mod the copy, they should still be of equal size. Hope this helps!

ok i just got into modding & i read the tuts but i still dont really know what a ppf is other than a ptach... sombdy just define what a ppf is & what its uses r

I have down loaded this to turn ollaloes blood gulch map thingy mod on my blood gulch map but when i click Create ppf patch it comes up with ERROR Files are not equal in size What do i Do Help and when you do put my name in it cos i may get confused

Ahh ya goodluck with that, no one on this forum is willing to help I'm sure. Try a google search for HaloMods and seek help there. Sorry but at this point in time I to am a noobie.
Give me a few hours to play around, I'll post back with your answer if your still around.

lol ok you need to use PPF-o-matic to patch the Cache003 file with one of these mods "PPF" files.

In PPF-o-matic use your Cache003 file as the ISO file.
