My HMT works with some things, like i can do batch extract but when i try to extract single BSP it give me a handling error and does nothing, i dont know how to work it.
ok, heres some answers to things in the thread that people have asked, but answers seem to be all over the thread. First things first the original .rar file had the replacment for the .exe file only, this seems to be replaced with the whole programme now but still doesnt work for me.
sorry to be such a n00b but how do i decompress all my maps and also how do i do that cache005.map stuff?
I dont know what you mean by cache005.map stuff, try to be more specific, but to decompress maps i use a programme called 'Halo Hacker Tools V5' it compresses and decompresses maps perfectly, and is almost the same as HMT V3.5 but is no good for SP->MP conversions.

Thats the link to .NET framework V2 BETA, whether this will change any errors for HMT is unknown, we'll have to wait and see

k i donno if im posting this in the right forum but ill find out, well anyway my question is how do i make a weapon fire something else other then a projectile like a warthog?

ok wat u do to make things shoot differently is u go to open, open the map file u want to edit, and then scroll down to projectile, and click the + sign, find watever weapon u want and at the top hit swap, and find the weapons bullet or watever, and u click on it once, and then by swap up there hit save, close it up, put it in ur maps place and then play!!!!

I've tried this, i didnt work for me, so either i did it wrong, the infomation on how to do it is wrong, or HMT V3.5 has a bug, if other people have gotten it to work this way, id like to know what im doing wrong. thanks.
EDIT1: Ok, i figured that by deleting the cache and getting the map re-cached worked for me, thanks excelent mini-tutorial. *bring on the rocket shooting 'hogs!*
just wondering if this is meant for pal xbox maps, when i try loading a map it comes up with this 'File is compressed - do you wish to decompress?' i click yes, then it says this 'not yet supported.... why is this in the menu then??? good question...' then it says 'file has been decompressed' when it hasnt.
I use PAL xbox maps and it works fine, you'll have to decompress the map before HMT will read it, as i said earlier i use 'Halo Hacker Tools V5' it works perfectly for compressing and decompressing maps.
I FINLY GOT MINE WORKING ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
YAY!!
THANK YOU!!
(*.(*.*).*)
The program isent that good but I GOT IT WORKING YAY!!
what program do u use to make ur own halo ce map?
TheRedDeath if you could tell us how you managed to get yours working it could help alot of people out. thanks.
Ok, this is all the help that i can be of/find. If there is anything i can add to this then contact me and ill add it to this post. Thanks[/url]
EDIT3:I thought it would be helpful if everyone sent in if their HMT works perfectly, if it works slightly, and it they cant get it to work at all, also the OS that they are using, and if there are any error messages to send them in too as this could help with the next version of HMT (whether MonoxideC will make it or if someone else is willing to take on the challange.)
While HMT doesnt work for some people a alternative has been found for extracting and injecting models (eg. pelican, banshee etc.)
Firstly create a new folder (eg. C:\newmodel) then open up HHT V5 (i completed this with V5, whether versions before V5 will work im unsure) then open up the map that holds the tag that you want. Next select the tag you want (ill be using banshee) then click save META and put it in C:\newmodel next select 'recursive' and select save again then select C:\newmodel as the destination folder and wait for it to extract, once finish open up the map your going to inject it to. Once the map is open, make sure 'recursive' is still checked and press inject meta, first it'll ask for the folder (C:\newmodel) then it'll ask for the .META file, which you saved in the same folder, wait for it to do its thing and you'll get a succession message, and there you go! a pefectly injected model!
To make the model workable open up sparkedit, open the map you just injected the model into, then once loaded goto tools, import tag into scenario... and select the model.
I've succesfully added the banshee, wraith, pelican and gun turrent into bloodgulch. I hope this helps atleast one person as this took tens of hours to succesfully complete.
