Here's just a thought. Instead of writing a completely different version for the updates, is it possible to patch in the system that looks for downloadable content in later versions? If that could be done, it'd more or less eliminate any real need to make an update-compatible version.

Nope, it would have to be ported to that version, which is a major pain since I can't actively debug it. So I would have to code blind.

Because your Modbox is currently screwed.
_____

xbox7887, I just checked out VideoMach and I understand it's purpose (which I will probably use to make short clips with out of all the images), but I am looking for a program that connects all the 'zoomed-in screenshots' taken by the auto hi-res grabber into a single huge image.

Thanks for recommending VideoMach though, I can definitely use that to create short image sequences.

Even if it weren't...I still haven't been able to actively debug Halo 2 while running any autoupdates.

Hmm, another idea then.

As far as I know, the problem when loading backwash etc from the hard drive with the hacked menu is that others can't load it because the host says "load Halo Directory/Backwash" instead of "TDATA/etc/backwash".

What about a way of either rewriting the map request to the correct directory when communicating with other players, or patching the xbe to give the correct path in for backwash, warlock et al?

Just thinking out loud here.

Sweet, But take your time Mike, I mean you've done so much. Maybe if we could get 500 people to send you a buck, you could go have a relaxing spa day or something.

Do not continue r0tten, just have respect for Xbox and his wishes, and respect the fact that this discussion is causing problems.

If you take the default.xbe from E\TDATA\4d530064\$u\ and place it in your Halo2 folder (probably E\Games\Halo2\) and start that, you'll have the update and the debug BIOS should work near-fully with it.

No, because the trainer code hooks into functions in the xbe, in the updated xbe, those functions have been moved to a new address, therefore the trainer will not hook into the right functions.
Awaiting connection...

Thankyou Xbox7887 for a wonderful trainer. Though I read above you'll be purchasing a new mobo soon, I thought I should still send you $5. Enjoy!

Again I love the trainer, I apreciate your hard work, and look forward to any other future releases if you have time at college.
