As far as I know, you can't.OniSplitter wrote:Hey, I'm basically a n00b at modding/hacking/everything except playing lol so let me ask this. How do you change the name in the "choose gametype" area. Like if my game is called "glitching" and I change it to include a RL and sword in the name, it still just says glitching when I go to select it (until I actually select it, then it shows up like it should). So how do I change that name so that I can remember which gametype is which?? Sorry if that was confusing, didnt know any other way to describe it. Please help me out.
Wow after reading my own question i realized how obvious the answer sounded, what im really asking is how can i had symbols, etc. into the "choose variant" list

What was it doing? I look into it and if I find the problem, I'll update it.Aequitas wrote:Jefff-
I was using this to rename some CTF gametypes today and it kept screwing up the time limits on my games (which I wasn't editing)... Any chance of getting a new official relase with that and the bracket thing fixed?

Well, I didn't do much testing, but on three different CTF games it changed the time limit from 30 minutes to (I think) 3 minutes. And everytime I went back to rename them, it always set 'em back to 3 minutes again.
EDIT: Tonight I renamed a bunch of saves using Sav3r - Oddball, Slayer, KOTH, and CTF. The time limits on all of the Slayers, Oddballs, and KOTHs were all 20 minutes and I didn't have any problems with them. The time limits on all of the CTFs were all 30 minutes. When I opened one of the CTF saves up in Sav3r it said the time limit was 120 seconds, even though it should be 1800 or whatever. I don't know if it is specific to CTF saves or not, 30 minute time limits or not, or any time limit > 20-something.
Random thoughts: The secondary heavy vehicle isn't editable in game. None is an option for secondary weapon in game.

And im guessing the only way to do this is with a hex editor right?voodoo721 wrote:You have to edit the SaveMeta file. Its either that or the other "Meta" file in the folder before it.

Oh and also, a couple things I noticed:
1. Whenever I make the gametype too long I get an in game error saying that their is a problem with the variant and it must be deleted. Don't know if you can change that but I have seen some hacked gametypes with really long names, much longer than some of the ones that I got errors on.
2. It seems (might just be me) that the [R Thumbstick (animated)] image is screwed up in some way because when I try to use it, it just shows up as [] in the gametype name (its really a complete sqaure but that was the closest thing I could think of to represent it). The [L Thumbstick (animated)] works fine though.
You might already know these or it might just be me, but I just figured I'd list them anyway.
Oh yeah, jefff. I was gonna suggest capping the write length on the save name. I've corrupted a few saves by going over the max length.
I've downloaded the latest source I could find and fixed alot of the bugs that I've read on this thread. If Jefff wants me to, I'll post an unofficial release.
P.S. Jefff, I've used VB for about since VB4. And i've created alot of file-management type things. So if you need some help, let me know.

If you can do some bug fixes, that would be great. I don't think the latest source is really the latest so here is the real latest source.

Everytime i try to load a gametype it always says that WTF? message or the subscript out of range message. how do i fix this?
it usually only lets me edit the slayer file in it. When i save that file and zip it back up Action replay says that it is not a valid Xbox save
Its almost as if the program is not wanting to re-sign the file.
