Well guys i converted something.....it was a rather small bsp from delta approach. The map loaded, but it was all black and u couldnt move, shoot, or throw grenades but at least i loaded the map. Im going to try a different one. If anyone wants the patch to either see it, or tell me what i did wrong, i can upload it.

Can you tell me the exact name of the BSP so I can try it?

(I REALLY want to do a successful SP -> MP conversion!)

Yea it was the bsp scenarios\solo\05a_deltaapproach\bsp_x05. Like i said i think i messed something up, even though i went through all of the steps in the tut. I am currently trying a different bsp now, and if i ever get one to work correctly, i will make a noob SP->MP Tutorial :)

Ok, all I have to do is import the raw, but 4.0 doesnt do it, and 3.5 makes it non openable in UAT, which probably means its corrupt.

EDIT: t_mann, what did you import raw with? If you did it with 4.0 how long did it take?

Can you quote the exact lines of the tutorial that says what you are trying to do plz so i know which step you are on?

Where you import the raw with 4.0, it freezes, no matter hwo long i leave it there. Now I have a new problem. I imported the raw with 3.5, the map doesnt open in UAT when UAT checks for Meta and Raw, but the thing is the SP BSP I converted loads up fine into Dark Matter, and even though I signed the map it says failed to load map ingame.



EDIT: Picture of BSP Loaded (Yeah, i know im not suppose to use this app, kill me. Besides, dark matter gives me the BSOD (blue screen) whenever i look at the actual BSP.) I know the BSP is there, its just the matter of the failing to load map in Halo 2.

EDIT 2: Could it be because in the BSPs Lone ID place its still pointing to the fake BSPs transfered by insolence?

So you are on where you click that "fix" button. I used 3.5 to fix it. I guess what made my map still open in UAT was i forgot to switch the leftover tags to the right tag classes. I just changed them a minute ago and now it won't open in UAT. Although, my second bsp map opens in UAT but i think i still have to move a tag.

Do i have to move my renamed bsp "magic" from the adlg tag to the sbsp tag? or null coags bsp or anything?


For both of my bsps, it didnt take that long to fix...maybe a minute or so.

Ok, i fixed the failed to load problem (had to fix padding) , but now it just freezes when I start game.

hmm well thats what happend to my second bsp....i am still trying a few things to see if it will load. Maybe we should be consulting P8ntballer24 or flesh about this seeming how they both got theirs to work. We may have picked bsps that cant be converted. Play around with it i guess see what happens.

P8nt has the easy way out, all he has to do is drag and drop the SBSP tag with Entity (some beta app poke cancer made, i think thats what its called) and i guess relink it through scnr. Lucky bastard.

Are you kidding me? And then the rest of us are using like 6 different tools to try doing this. Pokecancer plz release the app! Who cares if its beta, at least it works at SP->MP.

Got a little situation with my bsp i started over on....i picked an fx tag and renamed it and everything, dragged it over from insolence....so this is what i found right after using insolence......

1)Here is the situation: Where the "Magic_bsp" tag was in <fx>, there is now an "ive got a lovley bunch of coconuts" and it has the same bsp size as the sbsp.....why did its name change on me after transferring? Do i put this under the adlg tag or leave it alone?

2)Then i look under lightmap and i find a Magic_bsp tag with a meta size of only 4...is this the fake ltmp tag talked about in the tutorial? Do i just change it to adlg and leave it?

3)Then under sbsp tag, there is a sound\materials\hard\terrain_ice....so on..
Do i just put this sound tag into the snd! tag? is that where it is supposed to be? or put it under the adlg also and leave it?

4) Then i went under the ugh! tag and there is this little square sitting there....looks like this [] Do i just leave that alone also?

I am really trying hard not to mess any steps up so thats why i need to know exactly where to place these tags...thanks in advance

Yeah I like them too, I think its time to stop modding old maps and time to start modding mods :). Mods as in making mods out of the bsps. Dont gotta worry about mahc mods anymore, even though mines comming along beutifully.

I've tried about 12 conversions, just to learn it wasn't my fault because the BSP's were too big.

Now I learn that there is an app that does it in a snap?

You could learn to do it without a proggy, like shade did and TSF and anybody else who made one and didnt release it(prolly people who know enough to program for it).
