I've tried moving the camera... I've even gona away and let it load for 30 minutes. I still get a black screen.

Ok so does the BSP viewer load or does it just sit at the black screen the whole time? Make sure you have textured checked and if I remember you start out under containment in the BSP Viewer.

In order to see the containment, hold down the 'a' button for about 5 seconds. That will scroll you in the correct direction of the map.
