(Halo 1)HXH: Halo XBE Hacker (xbox)

Post by G0t m4xx 21a »

This is a small utility that is used to edit the text displayed in multiplayer such as "??? was killed by a vehicle" "hold BACK for score", "Double Kill", "Killtacular!", etc. This text is found in the default.xbe, and the program simply points to the right offset.

BTW: this works great even with the modded XBE for TSF's Silent Cartographer conversion.

This was posted in the Utilities forum a while back, and I've gotten a few requests for the program, so i'm reposting it ,but I DID NOT CREATE THIS, in case CLuis gets on my case for posting it.

to contact the creator it is Luisitocaicedo@hotmail.com

Ok NOW everyone can enjoy my xbe i made a ppf of it  and I think everyone will love using it on XBC. Just apply the pacth to the original halo default.xbe and replace the one on ur xbox's HD. It has no game modifications just the text of wich when someone dies u die u kill someone etc...... Default.xbe.ppf

The program is very easy to use. Just run the prog, and click "open halo xbe" Browse for your halo default.xbe ,and double-click it.

To the right of "find value for" there is a scroll box of all the text you can edit.

click on the little arrow to open the box, and click on whatever text you want to edit.

It will then show the original text, and whatever you want to change it to.

Change the text, then click "replace" at the bottom. The "%s" thing is a player's name, a variable.

The reason I couldnt use it because I cant find this .xbe file, and my search machine tells me I dont have one, so where can I expect that.

if you want to mod the .xbe file, you would have to run halo from the hard drive or burn a modded copy to dvd. (oh and if it wasn't clear, the .xbe file is on the disc)

You do realize that this is for Xbox, right? You have to FTP the defualt.xbe (the main executable) to your computer. like it is daid above, halo needs to be on the hard drive (duh!)
