HOw to take the AR tracer away for stealthy battling

1. open the map you want to mod in hmt. make sure you have the plugins!!!


2. go to the particle tab.


3. Find effects/particles/energy/ tracer c generic


4. This basicly has to do with all the yellow tracers/bullets in the map your working on. AR, Tank machine gun, Warthog machine gun, basicly.

5. For a thin qiuck wisp that is hardly noticable, change the life span from the defualt, to 0.03 something(0.03433434...), dependent on what your going for. you will find out real fast that modding halo takes a lot of testing to get your desired outcome.


6. Next for making it thinner, where it says min size(meaning smallest size) change it to half it is already, like 0.00734091. GET USED TO USING THE CALCULATOR because when doing HMT it is needed a lot, unless you can do these big of numbers in your head!

This is the basics to doing this type of thing. just use common sense and maybe a little high school/elementary math and you will have exacly what your lookin for. Check out all the other tags related to particle and you can do some cool things like make more blood shoot out when you shoot somebody make larger looking explosions and a lot more!!! good luck modding!!!

or, change the weapon so that it does not fire tracers...

Just use HHT and null out the contrail dependency for the AR proj.

still have the same stuff

I am going for a little tracer but not completly takin away. it would be good for a map that was dark and had all the color contasted dark, like night time. So, the tracer would be quick and hardly noticed but still able so see on some instances.

It depends on what your trying to do. but i was just giving an example what can be done, without changing the original game to much. still same weaps and everything

Just wondering, I'm probably going to figure this out after I post this, but, you ever notice how not all the bullets fired have tracers(ex. Warthog gun and Scorpion Gun)

Is there anyway to make that where all the bullets fired have a tracer?

This is my best guess... I think halo was not made to have more than 1. the best thing getting close to what you r saying is to take the needler projectile and change it to be small like a bullet take the detonation off and whatever it takes to get it like a bullet. then edit the projectile by its self and switch projectles with the machine gun. catch my drift? This would be the closest to what you want. The one projectile thing has often bothered me 2. Maby i should figure this one out the ez way(if there is a ez way).

i think theres a float in the weapons meta that sets the tracer to show every x shots.
