As promised im finally doing a tutorial on skinning HaloPC. This tutorial is going to be long and im going to try to cover as many things as I can in it dealing with textures, bitmap variety

Map grounds are more clever than that. If you look at the [senv] tag in HMT, and scroll to "levels\(test)\mapname\shaders\mapname_ground", you can actually edit the levels of detail for all three detail maps.
Primary Detail = Usually Grass
Secondary Detail = Usually sand/dirt/rock
Micro Detail = The 'detail ground' texture which Pepsi explained.
Note that, when you make the numbers higher, the detail maps get smaller, and therefore more detailed. All numbers are relative to the map size.

added yet another section I totally forgot about. I could have simply done the same thing as seen above but that would have taken away from the man who taught me where everything was and I rather quote him and give him his props then simply copying his work.
