Ok,So I wrote this because people were having Error's with map converting Programs.Well I'm here to to teach you how to do it without a program.

CE>PC
To convert a map from CE to PC you open the map you want to convert In a hexeditor(Best to use hexworkshop). Then change these bytes
Change 0x04 from 61 to 07 Then change 0x05 from 02 to 00.Then your done.

PC>CE
To convert a map from PC to CE you open the map you want to convert In a hexeditor(Best to use hexworkshop). Then change these bytes
Change 0x04 from 07 to 61 Then change 0x05 from 00 to 02.Then your done.

This tutorial is not for ripping crap from CE.This is for Getting Custom CE Stuff(That you made)
or got permission from maker.Into your mod for PC.

You may post this tut anywhere you like.Just Give me (Snip3r)Credit.

yes, I know. There is plenty of programs that do it.I just wanted to show everyone what the programs do.And how simple it is to do it.Also the reson I made it was because some friends of mine were having trouble with map converters.Like it not working.Because not every program works on all comps.I personally when converting a map I do it this way.I don't use programs.it's pretty pointless to use a program that changes 2 bytes of the header.

It may be eaiser, but what do you learn from using a program? Nothing. Makes me miss when everything was done with hex, you feel like you did something great :(

0x04 and 0x05 are hex offsets. He's saying you change what's at those locations. In this case the 4th byte and the 5th byte of the file.

Here is the most commonly used converter to play with.
