Before I explain the method, I will explain what the result is. say you have two sniper models that you want to put into your map. this tutorial will teach you how to have, in HMT, a sniper and a sniper2, that you can edit seperately, and they have seperate models ( there is a sniper2 mod2 and sniper/fp2 mod2).

Here's my method:
Create a folder containing subfolders called icefields and VIB.

First things first, you pick the map you want to duplicate the sniper in (i chose icefields). Batch extract (Extract Metadata). Do this into your icefields folder.

navigate to icefields>weapons>sniper rifle. look for these 2 files: sniper rifle.weap and sniper rifle.mod2
rename them to sniper rifle2.weap and sniper rifle2.mod2. Open up the XML file in notepad and find the first occurence where it says
weapons/sniper_rifle/sniper_rifle
and change it to
weapons/sniper_rifle/sniper_rifle2

then go to icefields>weapons>sniper rifle>fp and rename fp.mod2 to fp2.mod2. then open up the XML in notepad and change it from weapons/sniper_rifle/fp/fp
to
weapons/sniper_rifle/fp/fp2

Next, open a different, random (preferably clean) map. Inject a sniper fp model of your choice. it doesn't matter what it is, you can always change it. As soon as it's injected, recursively save the meta of that fp model to your icefields folder.

save a CSV of chillout and extract the sniper/fp model to it's proper location.
save the BSP/model sections of ice fields.
decrap the sniper fp model.
paste the new bsp into levels>test>icefields and overwrite the existing.

yay! rebuild time!
put a clean icefields in your icefields folder and rebuild it. add the sniper fp model, and any of the files you renamed.
Vertices? yes. find it.
indices? yes. find it.
Bsp? indeedly-deed.
done.

post rebuild stuff:

open hht and swap the 3p model of sniper 1 to that of sniper 1 fp.

in hmt, copy the sniper2 meta and paste it over that of any weapon.
now you have a regular sniper and a remodeled sniper in the same map.
good luck.

ps. if there's anything i left out just tell me.

did you swap the sniper2's weapon in hht to match the sniper2's model?

open htt go to weapons...look at the mod2 dependencies...look which model that weapon uses...you need to change it to the second sniper model...

Yeah, I had no idea how to get past that at first, so it took a lot of experimenting. Make sure the sniper you are adding has a different model then the normal one in the map. also, you dont really need to duplicate the model for this tut, just the fp model  .

I have been trying this for 12 days, and doing everything it says SPECIFICALLY. Still. I rebuild, and get an exception when i try to use the map with assault rifle 2.
