HMT: Active Scenery

Post by wasserbrunner. »

1. open up desired map in HMT
2. copy the meta of a projectile (i sugest the ghost, banshee, or plasma rifle projectile. because lets say u used the ghost proj but want the ghost to shoot normal bullets...just make it shoot banshee bullets, because they are basicly the same thing
3. go to the equipment tag, sellect the health pack (or what ever equipment u want to sacrifice) and paste the meta over the equipment's meta.
4. go to the model tag. open up the turret model (recomended beacuse it only has 1 level of detail model, thearfor u will only have to edit 1 model) and export it.
5. open up a modeling program and model to your liking.
6. in HMT go to the model tag and import yout new model.
7. open HHT and go to the projectile tag
8. sellect the projectile that you chose at the begining.
9. in the dependancy box it will say "mod2:nulled out (or if u used a proj with a model like the rocket it willl say "mod2: rocket") and change it to the model that u edited in the modeliong program (my example was the turret model)
10.open map in sparkedit.
11. locate the equipment that your chose to sacrifice (most likely the health pack)
12. place health pack in area where u want the activ scenery to spawn, pointing in the direction u want it to fly.
13. open HMT and go to the iteam collection tag. sellect the equipment u chose (most likely the health pack) and change the respawn time for the active sceneery to repeat to your liking, or keep it how it is.
14. in HMT go to the projectile tag and fool around with the projectile that u chose's speed and weight.

Great! I was experimenting before you posted this, and got fuel rod shees bombarding the bases

Ouch, you don't want to have dozens of explosive shees hitting you at the same time

How exactly do you know which way the health pack is facing?

sounds cool, but the tutorial could use some clearer instructions. i get the gist of what to do, but i'm not 100% sure on some stuff; it just feels like it was typed up in a hurry to keep someone else from making it before you did.
ASPARTAME: in your diet soda and artificial sweeteners. also, it's obviously completely safe. it's not like it will cause tumors or anything. >.>

Let's see if I can remember how to use Sparkedit...
1. Open map in Sparkedit
2. Click Edit tab on the side
3. Click the drop-down box next to mode and select MP equipment
4. Select the object you want to place if there's another already on the map (in this case a healthpack) and click Duplicate near the top of the window
5. At the top, click the hand (translate mode), and click and drag to desired position

Heres a Small Preview of the Outcome if done correctly:
(Mind the Framerate, I wasn't using the best Recorder I had, was in a tad of a hurry, and yes, the Music isn't that great, picked something at random. ;))

Bit of a bump, yes, but can someone please post this with the Banshees flying overhead like in the above movie? For some reason, this crashes whenever I try it.
