How to make a shottie flood gun. MAP INCULDED!

Post by Hyperdash »

EDIT:Here's Timberland with the floodie-gun!
Shottie Flood Gun-updated

Well today I'm going to teach you how to make a Shottie shoot flood infection forms.

1: Make a folder on your desktop called "Flood gun gulch"

2: Inside that folder, make 4 new folders called "Vertices" "Batched timberland" "New map bulid" "Flood form"

2: Inside your "Flood form" folder make 3 others called "ACTV" "ACTR" "BIPD"

Were ready to begin!

3: open HMT V.3.5 (or which ever version you have) and open C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\MAPS\timberland.map

4: Now click on tools, then extract, then batch extract

5: A pop-up should have appeared. Click on the check-box "Extract metadata". Now click on browse, then go to C:\Documents and Settings\usernamehere\Desktop\Flood gun\Batched timberland. Now hit Start Batch Extraction and when a pop-up says "Extract BSP?" click yes.

6: Once it's done go to tools, extract, BSP model sections and save it to C:\Documents and Settings\usernamehere\Desktop\Flood gun\Vertices

7: Once it's done hit Ok and close timberland

8: Open map file C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\MAPS\c40.map

9: Go to [actr] Actor and click the + sign

10: Then click on characters\flood_infection\flood_infection

11: Now click on the Recursive button that's next to the Save Meta button and then hit Save meta

12: Save it to C:\Documents and Settings\usernamehere\Desktop\Flood gun\Flood form\ACTR

13: then go to [actv] Actor Variant and find characters\flood_infection\flood_infection and save it to C:\Documents and Settings\usernamehere\Desktop\Flood gun\Flood form\ACTV

14: Now go to [bipd] Biped and scroll on down to characters\flood_infection\flood_infection and save it to C:\Documents and Settings\usernamehere\Desktop\Flood gun\Flood form\BIPD

15: Now go to tools\Generate Raw Model Offset list (CSV file) and click it. Save it to C:\Documents and Settings\usernamehere\Desktop\Flood gun\

16: Now go to tools\Extract\Raw model and load the file we just saved.

17: Now find characters\flood_infection\flood_infection and click it. Now click Extract it to C:\Documents and Settings\usernamehere\Desktop\Flood gun\Flood form\BIPD\characters\flood_infection

18: Then hit ok when a pop-up appears. Now go to tools\model de-crapper/BSP bulider

19: A window will appear called HMT Helper Utilities. Right click inside the huge box at the top and hit add

20: Add the file C:\Documents and Settings\usernamehere\Desktop\Flood gun\Flood form\BIPD\characters\flood_infection\flood_infection.mod2.meta

21: Now where it says Existing Vertex Area hit browse and find C:\Documents and Settings\usernamehere\Desktop\Flood gun\Vertices\timberland.vertices and hit open

22: Do the same with Existing Index Area and Existing BSP Block and then hit De-Crap These Models and Bulid a New BSP Chunk While We're At It

23: Once it's done, minimize HMT and go to your Flood gun folder

24: Go into your Vertices folder and copy timberland.sbsp.meta and paste it into Batched timberland\levels\test\timberland file and hit yes to over right

25: Now go to Batched timberland folder and copy ALL OF THE FOLDERS in there and paste them into your New map bulid folder

26: Now go to your Flood form folder and then your ACTR folder and copy/paste all the folders in there into the New bulid folder and hit yes to all

27: Repeat step 26 for the BIPD folder and the ACTV folder

28: Now go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\MAPS and copy timberland.map and paste it into your New bulid folder

Now were ready to Rebulid the map

29: Open up HMT and go to tools\Rebulid map

30: Now for the orignal map click browse and go to your New map bulid folder and select the timberland.map

31: Click yes when it asks Do you wish to blah blah blah...

32: Now for Additonal Files hit add and Highlite all the FILES not folders with in New map bulid\characters\flood_infection
and go into bitmaps in that folder and highlite all of those files. Same with Shaders

NOTE! If you are adding this to an already modded map find those files as well

33: HIT BULID!!!!

34: When it asks "Has any new Vertices been added?" Click yes and go to your Vertices folder which can be found in your flood gun folder. Click on timberland.vertices.NEW not timberland.vertices

35: When it asks "Has any new indices been added?" hit yes and it should take you back to your Vertices folder. click on timberland.indices.new

36: When a pop-up asks "Do you
wish to use the modified start offset?" hit yes.

37: When it says "Map Rebulid Completed Successfully" hit ok

38: Now go to your new bulid folder and rename timberland.map.rebulid.map to timberland.map then put it in your C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\MAPS folder

39: Now go into Halo Hackers Tool and open timberland.map via C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\MAPS\timberland.map

40: Go to the vehi tag and open it. Scrol down to the ghost tag and to the actv tag and swap it for the charecters/flood_infection/flood_infection. Now it should work! Tweak the speed and what-not of the projectile to your liking.

There ya go! You now have a Shottie that will shoot floods! Go and pwn some nubs yo!!! Picezoroz, L8rzoroz, or BYE!!!!

stickied is when a mod makes it last forever, so it doesnt get bumped down or anything, it stays on the forum.

Do the flood move, or is this simply shooting bipeds?

So it's possible to shoot out AI in halo 1 now? Can this concept be applied to SP?

Interesting... This could be used to start massive wars between covenant and humans in SP if it works... I'll try it out later tonight

I only ran into 1 major problem... SP maps already have the act and such in it, so when I tell it to shoot a biped, it just sits there and does nothing...
