Basic Halo PC Modding with HMT

Thought i would post it up in the tut section aswell.

I am going to take you there the basic modding of halo for the pc. first your going to need a modding tool i advise you use halo map tools(HMT) there is others but this is my favorite tool and this is the tool i will be using in this guide

After you have the tool before we get into any modding your going to want to back up all you maps. If you Wondering to your self "how do i find the maps"
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\MAPS
Now your going to go in the folder select all is way to select all is Ctrl and A now copy them either right click or hit Ctrl and C doesnt really matter now after you copied the maps hit back one so your in the halo folder and make a folder called Backups and go into it and paste all the maps in it may take a couple minutes so just wait after its done start up HMT and hit open and go to the MAPS folder pick a map you want to mod some off the maps will not open in HMT Because there not ment to be opened ex. Bitmaps.map will not open. once you open a map click on a labels.

One Find a label that looks interesting hit the little [X] next to it and it will scroll down ex. Weapon now once you scroll down a label pick something inside of it ex. weapons\pistol\pistol once you click on it every thing in the map has somthing called Meta.

Ok once you no what the meta is we can get into the fun stuff.

Meta Swapping/Other Modding

Changing Projectile

First you need to pick a Projectile go to Proj and pick a projectile and copy its meta

Now go to a differnt projectile and paste in the meta.
