Ok I have a problem, the tut is realy good and I can get vehicles in perfectly, but I am having trouble with machines. When I rebuild I add the machines mod2 and mach.meta file just like the tut says, then when I open it in sparkedit or hmt and view the new model, its messed up or can't be rendered at all. Yet I can get vehicles to work perfectly but not machines.
Heres a pic to an elevator that I imported, I had to re inject its model over it to make it look that good after I rebuilt. http://files.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=4605
When I add machines like lifts elevators and platforms, is there something more that I need to do than with the vehicles?

re:
I'm just trying to inject logs into a map, but I follow everything you say and have done it...It's just when I click rebuild...it sits there saying "Creating Map Index" forever...never moves, just stays on that. I've repeatedly tried again and again..any ideas?

Err... you may need to increase the virtual memory on your computer... or just free up some memory.
Other than that, give it a bit of time. Some computers take longer to do this process than others.
BTW, you will also get this error is you try to rebuild a modded map. Modded maps won't work. Use a clean, non-modded map.

re:
hmm I'm sure the memory's not the problem, 512 ddr sdram, 80 gig hard drive and I make sure I have plenty of virtual memory..I'll try replacing the map.
How long would it take an average computer to do this?? I've got 2.0 gigahertz processor as well...
Sigh, replacing the map files didn't work....

re:
damn mine finally rebuilt, but it freaking took like 20 minutes...and my computers nice, well decent. In a normal rebuild it takes like 2 minutes...but perfect model injection seems to make it run a hell of a lot slower. Another question....after you have rebuilt the map with a perfectly injected model, and you realize you want more perfectly injected models in it, do you use your already modded map and batch extract that and use the modded in the rebuild as well? or do you do all your PMI's in one rebuild?
haha lol, you use the same username as my bro...Runner wrote:damn mine finally rebuilt, but it freaking took like 20 minutes...and my computers nice, well decent. for your first question, it shouldn't take longer. try rebooting a few times and leave it alone for a few hours. that should help.
and yes, you can batch extract PMI'd maps. just follow the tut exactly as before.
