Converting Halo PC Mod to Halo Trial [submitted by goilla69]

This tutorial was orignally submitted by goilla69. Rewritten by me to make it more reader-friendly.

Note: Only for Halo PC Bloodgulch mods.

Warning!: Do NOT use this tutorial to steal stuff from full Halo that isn't already in Halo Trial. This is only meant for converting full Halo mods that do not contain objects not already present in Halo Trial.

Open the full Halo map that you want to convert to trial with Hex Workshop. Highlight the following hex information:

Open the Edit menu and hit Copy (hotkey Ctrl + C). Close the map and open the full Halo map. You've probably noticed that all the numbers and letters are in groups of four. Locate the hex group with the following numbers and letters: A35E (Just go to Edit menu and then Find (hotkey Ctrl +F). Then enter in A35E and press OK). Now highlight 27 groups (remember each group contains four characters) after A35E. Then go to Edit menu and paste (hotkey Ctrl + P). Now close the map and save it (back-up the map when prompted if you want to play the full Halo map on Halo PC again). Now copy your modded map and paste it in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Trial\maps.

Hurray. Thanks to goilla69 for submitting this on www.modhalotrial.com! I am rather pissed though, as I was so close to completing my own tutorial before he finished lol. I had forgotten the last group and so it continuously exited the game with an exception error. Well have fun and remember to not steal any Halo PC stuff not already in Halo Trial!

Edit: Note: Please be sure that you have permission from the original full Halo modder before converting or releasing it! If you can't contact the original modder, at least include that in the credits. And also note that this won't always work for ALL maps. Some maps may contain information that will interfere with Halo Trial.
