[PC]Easy way to enable rain/fog, etc.

Post by UPS »

There is a much easier way to enabling the 'snow' (or rain, whatever you are using) in a map without hex editing.

Tools needed:
HHTv5 by CLuis
A map that already has the tag correctly PMI'ed.

First, open the map in HHT. There are two specific tags that we should look at here.
The first is
[sbsp]Structure BSP
Go to that and select the
levels\test\XmapX\XmapX (The name of the map will take place of the XmapX)
It may take a few seconds to load, and it will seem like it is messed up. Just wait a few seconds and it will soon stop loading. If you scroll all the way to the bottom on the right side, the last four dependencies will start with;
rain -
wind -
lsnd -
snde -
If you PMI'ed rain into your map, click the one that says 'rain -' and swap the dependency with the PMI'ed rain.
If its wind, do the swap it with the PMI'ed wind.
Same with the bottom two.

Secondly, there is [scnr]Scenario.

This one will also need to load, but for me, it doesn't take as much time.
Scenario is mainly used to change the sky. There is also a spot two dependencies under 'sky -' that says 'bipd -'. This most likely changes what Biped is used for the players.

=\ Darn internetz.
I was using you for an example, showing that not everyone knows every little nook and cranny of modding. Not trying to make you look 'like an idiot' =\
