difficultly = easy/medium
the way i do it is using adobe photoshop CS2. to first get the skin open, you need halo map tools. you can get this from another part of the forums or from the internet.
Getting Hold Of The Texture
first of all, to get the texture, open HMT
then click file / open and then find a map you want to customize.
now you get a lot of information on the screen. select bitmaps and scroll down till you find vehicles, then find
"vehicles\rwarthog\bitmaps\rwarthog"
click save texture and save it whereever you want.
photoshop part
you must have the .dds plugin for photoshop
open up the texture you have just saved in photoshop
it should look like this:
you now use the polygon lasso tool to select area you want to change. once you have selected an area that you want to change, hit ctrl j and what you have selected will be in a new layer. change this new layer how you want and then simply change the layer setting to overlay, and turn the brightness up or down to suit your needs. save the new texture, and then go back to HMT.
find the bitmap you just changed, and then instead of save texture, click on inject texture. find you're texture you made and inject it. once complete, you will have a custom model

that works fine. install it then just run photoshop as he said in the tutorial except when you save at the end the plugin pops up and you hit save. u don't have to use the polygonal tool although, just select what you want to change however you want.
