THIS IS DUDE101'S HELP FOR BEAM EMITTER
1. make a project folder anywhere.
2.then put an original map like bloodgulch n the project folder.
3.do tools>extract>batch extract check the box that says extract metadata save it to your new project folder then say yes to the question about the BSP.
4.then open map A10 lets extract a beam emitter go to [proj] or projectile hit the + sign next to it then find levels\a30\devices\beamemitter\beam click on it then under tag information at the top check Recrusive the hit Save Meta save to your project\levels\a30 then it says finished extracting.
5.go to tool>rebuildmap then hit browse were it asks for original map open the bloodgulch in your project folder then say yes to the question that says something about auto fill in then click add at the bottom go to project\levels\a30\devices\beamemitter then get beam.proj.meta then click build say no to the next two questions and then in your project folder there should be a map named bloodgulch.map.rebuild.map select it hit rename either change it to bloodgulch.map or my maps folder has it as bloodgulch(yours may be different so make it bloodgulch.map) then open it in HMT go to [proj] project find the beam and copy the met tag then open assault rifle bullet under projectiles then then paste over the meta tag then hit save.
6.move it to your halo maps folder.

This is not a tut for "rebuilding maps".
Its a brief tut on extracting the Beam emitter.

This won't work on anything that has vertices and indices, you skipped a
bunch of steps....

Extract Bsp/model section
Create CSV file
Extract model you want to add
Decrap models
Full file rebuild.

However, you need only change the misleading title of your post to
HMT EASY - Extracting the beam emitter.

well i didnt have to do thos steps i was doin the beam emitter i didnt mean to say you could do any other stuff sorry lol i fixed the missleading title sorry didnt mean to misguid people
i never try to do that :D

I don't want to make another tutorial sticky in this forum, but this is a nice tutorial that future members will want to use, so off to the tutorial section!

Ok, this tutorial is great and it worked fine, but i am unable to open the sounds.map file, because it is not a normal map file.

Is there any way I can make the sound of the pistol firing (which is what i make fire the emitter beam) have the sound of the emitter beam firing?

(if you don't know what this sound is, go into infinity, and it is the sound of those beams that shoot out from either base.
