[HALO PC] Putting in/Changing Audio!

Post by {DR}Mod XXX »

Ya wanna know how to put in your own audio using only 2 programs? Then read this tutorial, it tells you how to change the audio/fx of your maps - comes in handy for your mods. Plus this tutorial is in a step-by-step form for newcommers.

What you'll need:
Smart Audio Converter
Halo Mapping Tools

Step 1: In this tutorial I'm going to use the ghost at blood gulch (whatta surprise  ) for the example. Okay, once you have downloaded the tools you need, open up the smart audio converter you downloaded (NOTE: YOU MAY NEED TO BUY THE ORIGINAL FOR THIS TO WORK, BECAUSE SOME TRIALS ONLY CONVERT 60% OF THE FILE), now click on the plus sign located at the top left. Now navigate to the audio file you want to listen to in the ghost at blood gulch. Then double click on the file, you should now see your file in the list of audio files in the smart audio conveter. If it's not there, redo this step.

Step 2: Okay, now that we have the audio file we want in the Smart Audio conveter, look at the "Select Output Format" Pull down tab located near the bottom right, then click it. It should list a bunch of different formats of audio files, find WAV (ADPCM), then select it. Now before you click on convert, look at the "Output Folder" option at the bottom, change it to just the desktop. Now click convert!!! Then when it's done converting, close the Smart Audio Converter.

Step 3: Once you've closed the Smart Audio Converter, open up HMT (Halo Map Tools), then open bloodgulch.map (or just bloodgulch, depending on how your maps were saved), you should know how to open a map but if you don't or do I'm gonna tell ya. Go to file then click open, then navigate to where your Halo Folders were saved, once in where your Halo Folders were saved, click on the folder named MAPS. Then there's all your maps. Double click on blood gulch then that's it, your blood gulch map should of been opened. Now it's time for changing that audio! Scroll down to the title "[snd!] Sound (333 items)" and click the "+" sign next to it. Now a bunch of things should of came down under "[snd!] Sound (333 items)", now scroll down until you find "sond\sfx\vehicles\ghost_lp", click on that. Now over to the right, under "Tracks contained in the selected structure", you should see "-hvrlp", click on that, then click on "Import Track", then load up the file you converted and saved, then save your changes to the map (NOTE: YOU MAY HAVE TO IMPORT THE TRACK ON THE CHUNK TOO).

Step 3: Load up halo, play, get in ghost, then listen to Snoop Dogg or whatever... LOL  .

Hope this tut works and helped some poeple out there. CYA!!!
