Properly Making Non-Dual-Wield Into Dual-Wield Weapons
Properly Making Non-Dual-wield Into Dual-Wield Weapons
First go to the first person model of the same type as the weapon you want wieldable(covenant/human).
Then go to the chuck cloner and copy the bone reflex to you clipboard.
After that go to the first person model of the weapon you want wieldable. For this I will be using the battle rifle.
Go to the chunk cloner and overwrite the bone reflex for the battle rifle.
After that make the battle rifle weapon dual-wieldable.
Then switch the jmad linked to the weapon to the jmad that the bones originally came from.
After that test to see what it looks like.
The first person camera may be a little messed up because the new jmad, you can fix that by editing the first person camera in the weapon tag.
But in the end it should look something like this.
I hope you all make the best of this tutorial.
Thanks you,
DarkShallFall

I presume you use the chunk cloner in the same way you copy the bone reflex? Then switch the jmad linked to the weapon to the jmad that the bones originally came from.
When I did this my sniper ended up being like it was when you just click "dual wieldable" i.e It was in my left hand but point to the side.
I'm just uncertain on how to do the switch jmad bit.
Cheers.

Yes, can you please add a bit more depth? I am still confused where this [jmad] bit is, do you navigate to the JMAD section and save the meta offset of the SMG and then copy it over the BR?
It's a nice looking tutorial but a bit more description for the beginner modders please. Where to navigate to etc.
Thanks.

Hi, I tried that just before you posted, and when I did my guns went invisible? But I could see the shadow of them.
Yeah that's cleared it up a lot thanks, if possible you should add it to the tutorial. I will attempt this again, I see there is a mastercheif animation and a dervish animation. I take it I replace the dirvish BR with the dirvish SMG, and the same with the mastercheif?
I thought I did that before but my guns are invisible, oddly enough if I plug in another player they can see the dual BR's looking normal. Weird huh?
Thanks for that, cleaned it up.

Say, does anyone feel like dual-wieldizing all the guns for the chief and the elite in a single map and posting it in the Tags & Resources or Downloads? It would be nice to be able to just extract and build in the guns you want dual wielded.
How many single-wield guns are there? Let's see...
-Sniper
-Carbine
-Beam rifle
-Battle rifle
-Shotgun
-Rocket launcher
-Fuel rod cannon
-Brute shot
-Sentinel beam
I think that's all. Nine of them, so that's 18 jmads to edit. Who feels like taking on a mini-project?
I'd do it myself, but I fear the chunk cloner. It is powerful but tends to eat maps or kill system link in insidious ways.

Retired. Thank you neodos, DemonicSandwich, DarkShallFall, Dragonfire, foxfanatic2317, GOWO and everyone in the hall of fame.
If you want to know how I did something, take apart my mods.

You don't edit the [jmad]'s, you only copy/overwrite the bones reflexive in the First Person model.CaptainPoopface wrote:I think that's all. Nine of them, so that's 18 jmads to edit. Who feels like taking on a mini-project?
Those "18 [jmad]s" you are referring to is just swapping 18 Idents.
The chunk cloning only occurs in the [mode] tags unless you intend to add limb placement to the FP [jmad]s. Only then should you be chunk cloning in the [jmad] tags.

When you overwrite the bone reflexive, do you go on the reflexives tab, click on bone, by right clicking on it and going to the chunk cloner? And then do you copy to clipboard everything once it has opened? Or do you copy to clipboard "Reflexive - Name: Bone" By highlighting it then clicking copy to clipboard? Similary when overwriting on the BR, do you select "Reflexive - Name: Bone", and then overwrite?
Thanks for help.
