SP to MP BSP Conversions

BSP Conversions
Written by Zone 117 of Team Remapped 5/22/07
Stuff Needed:
- Entity 1.3.9
- H2Core and H2Guerilla (H2C/H2G)
- A somewhat general knowledge of Halo 2 modding terms.
- The maps:
- A campaign map
- A multiplayer map
- Mainmenu.map
- Single_player_shared.map
- Shared.map

W is go forward.
A,D is go sideways.
S is go backwards.
X is up.
Z is down.
Hold right click down to change the angle.
+ increases the camera speed.
- decreases the camera speed.
Selecting:
To make a certain object show, go to edit, then select:
Collection (for vehicles and weapons).
Players (for player spawns).
Scenery (for trees and such).
Death zones (for deathbarriers).
Machines (for machs).
Objectives (for game types).
Obstacles (for blocs).
Left click on an object to select it.
To move objects:
Left and right arrow is moving the object sideways.
Up and down arrows move the object forward and backwards.
Page up and page down move the object up and down.
To tilt objects:
Left Click(hold) + shift + move mouse=Tilts Item North/South.
Left Click(hold) + ctrl + move mouse=Tilts Item Rotates Object.
Left Click(hold) + alt + move mouse=Tilts Item East/West.
Information:
- You need a decent computer for this, H2C really needs a lot of ram. The better the computer, the faster. (Don

I constantly get errors with H2Core. I have only sucessfully rebuilt with it once and even then the map froze. It always gets stuck on global_chorus_effects or whatever its called.
Ill try again without looping sounds, because you said to check it however in the picture it is unchecked. If this works ill let you know but does anyone know why it constantly gives errors and how to fix it?

I just wrote
this tutorial on H2C Errors.
The unchecked box in the picture just shows how you have to mess around with it for it to work, it's a buggy program.

Unilat, Global chorus takes A LONG time. On my old computer which had 512 mb ram and 2 GHz it took like an hour. This new computer goes quick..
Its all in your computer, global chorus as i said, took me an hour on my old computer. This tutorial is 100% correct.

Global chorus works or does not work based on which map it is. Like i said, it wasnt stuck, it gave me an unexpected error and had to close. However that was gemini. So I compiled on terminal instead. This worked and after 3 hours of compiling it said error compiling on some random bitmap. But, when I clicked ok it continued which i thought would have no effect. Then out of nowhere, and unexpected error had to close it on ive got a lovely bunch of coconuts.
After three hours, I was just happy it passed global chorus effects. But then it errored on the last possible tag to convert.

you could update a working link??
or maybe its just my computer..

and i googled it but all that came up was questions about
h2 core and guerilla

i just cant do it on oldmombasa
but
now....i start the view BSP
and it opens and says loading for a split second
then
KABLOOIE!!
its gone and a window pops up and says
Exception Error....

I'm sure I'm not suppose to post my help questions within this Tutorial, but heck I'm going for it.
I did that whole tutorial successfully, until I got to the part about fixing spawns, I could go into my map's BSP Viewer before the conversion but now when I enter it AFTER the conversion I get some error. Below

Unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you click Continue, blah blah blah
Non-Negative number required
Parameter Name: value.
I have
-Microsoft Framework 2.0
-Microsoft Framework 3.0
So why does it do that after the conversion but not before it. I'm asking here, since I'm hoping to submit an BSP Mod soon
Im using
Gemini.map for Multiplayer
and deltacontrl.bsp0 for my BSP......
Redid 2 times
with Waterworks and Terminal, but used same BSP
no luck, I get that non-negative upon trying to open BSP
so I check IFP's and it tells me "Tag type doesn't have a plugin" if that helps
Computer Specs
CPU-Intel Pentium4 FSB 2.4 GHz
Ram-OCZ PC3200 Premier - 512mb
VideoCard- ATI Radeon 7000 64mb
OS- Windows XP Home Edition
120GB Harddrive

You normally get that error when a pointer translation fucks up. Nothing to do with your comp.
Might be that BSP just won't convert yet 'cause Core is doing something wrong.

dang, I really liked the BSP, i had drawn it out with spawns and everything, (nerdish i know) guess, ill find another.
EDIT- Tried bunch of others and same error, I'm trying all these BSP's that never been used, does that mean only the ones that can work the old way, or proved to work in Halo 2 core, will work?

You either messed up your map, have a messed up version of entity or have a crappy PC with too little virtual memory I'd say.
Try another entity, and you can try Dark Matter's BSP viewer instead. My entity BSP viewer doesn't work but Dark Matter's does.
