How to spawn weapons inside a crate

what you will need:
sp map (for this tut 08a_deltacliffs
any mp map
entity
brains

1. Open entity and open 08a_deltacliffs and go to the bloc tag and find objects\gear\covenant\military\crate_space_a

2. Click recursive, parsed, sounds then click save, save to any folder you wish ( preferably a empty folder)

3.Open the mp map and click build and find the .info file in the folder you just saved the crate to

4.Open the hlmt properties of the crate and change all the weap tags to the weapon u want.

5. spawn bloc, place, and play

that bloc also has different variations so you can use the same crate to spawn different weapons...

crate spawns for me but nothing in it

1.) I couldn't see the crate in the BSP viewer

-and-

2.) I FTP'd to see if it worked and it spawned where the weapon was (I spawned it as an ITMC, should I spawn it as a bloc?) but there was nothing in it.

Both, what you do on this hlmt is change a variation, you can set up variations of a spawned object via a script :mrgreen:

I think ur tut needs some werk. I tried it, and i can get the crate to spawn, (as a bloc) no weapons, tried spawning it as itmc, no crate.

care to take a pic of ur final, to prove it can be done?

NOTE: i also tried this the crate_a on newmombassa, but it kept freezing when i i tried to load that map. so there must be different crates, between the sp maps.

EDIT: Ive thought of this along time ago, might work better if the crate was spawnd as a mach, then place itmc's in it, using floating option in scnr, but the only negative with that is the crate wont move, like a normal bloc spawn would. I've never tried it tho.

There has to be more to it than what you are telling use. In your own map, no where in the hlmt doesn't it point to only beam rifles, which are the only weapons to spawn in your crates. Also, they only spawn in the crates IF you spawn close to them. Any other time, they do no show up.

its more proper to spawn as a bloc but w/e if it worked it worked if it didn't id suggest spawning as a bloc, u must have did sumthing wrong spawning because for my mod decimation it appears just fine

You have to spawn it with proper variation, nothing shows up in the canister cause its "default" variation has no weapons attached.
He just skipped the part about spawning different variations. :roll:
