How to change shaders for other weapons.

Post by HaloEliteModder »

Here is a tutorial on how to make weapons see through able or what i call changing shaders. This tut is for newbies and people that don't know this.

Materials
1. DotHalo
2. Halo 2 maps (duh)
3. U must know how to use DotHalo
4. A map resigner (or u can use DotHalo's resigner, it doesn't matter though)
5. To view images click them.

Now this is how u do this.

First off open dot halo

Image

Then scroll down to [mode] Models. For this tut i am doing the Battle Rifle.

Image

Then select the Battle Rifles. The reason i circled the Battle Rifle and the Battle Rifles FP is because these are the battle rifle models we are modifying.

Image

Then select Battle rifle the one without fp and go to the Dependencies editor. Now There are color that u can use to change the shader.
HERE IS THE LIST

For red the shader u swap with the BR is

objects\weapons\support_low\sentinel_gun\shaders\sentinel_gun_illum

For Blue with purple stuff is

objects\weapons\rifle\beam_rifle\shaders\beam_battery_luminous

For Green is

objects\weapons\support_high\flak_cannon\shaders\flak_bolt_luminous

For pink the shader is

objects\weapons\pistol\needler\shaders\needler_luminous

For um.....I think that is all the colors lol.

Now wat u do is u must swap the shaders of the weapon with these other shaders.
WARNING (its not really a warning lol) The Fp model shader is for First Person which means the weapon shader will be the same shader as the color u put. The one that says battle rifle with no fp means the model of the weapon on the floor.

if u read this that means the shader of the weapon will work if u swap all of the battle rifles shaders including the fp one with the shaders above.

After u do all of that stuff click save changes and fix encryption.

WALLA u just made your weapon see throughable or Changed shaders!

Happy Modding!

Sorry if no Pic of the Shader and wat they look like! LOL
Let me know if i am missing something.

This wasen't the best place to post this tut. Most people here are probably going to come and yell at your for this, I just felt like warning you, but at least you were thinking of trying to help people, so I say good job.

It is just common knowledge of modding to know how to do that. So anywhere for beginner modder tutorials but oh well. Atleast you took time to try to help the community.
