First off lets start by deciding what map we should use. In this tutorial I will be using gemini. Next decide which melee weapon should have an added projectile. In this tutoiral I will be using a sword. Now open up gemini (your map) In Chunk adder app. If you have "all in one" it is already installed under special editors, otherwise if you dont go download it . Now while gemini is open we need to select weapon on the left. Now click the dropdown bar and select sword (or which ever melee weapon). Now we need to select trigger and click "all done here". You should get a larger window that has a bunch of stuff you probably dont understand if you have never added a chunk before. first off enable the box up top that says "other reflexive" under "chunks to add". You must do this because the sword doesn't already have a trigger to work off so we are going to leach off another weapon. you will notice after you click this box a drop down box becomes available. it will say "other reflexive" also. Just scroll down to the weapon you would like your melee weapon to shoot as (note this will not add the projectile included) for instance if you want yours to shoot like a sniper which is single shot with a pause or shoot like a smg which is fully auto you would select that weapon. Now we need to add the chunks. Under added chunk info you will see dropdown boxes that say "chunk #" we want to change that to 0 and the one next to it to 1. afterwords click that box that says add chunk next to it then look at the bottom right of the window and click "chunk #" and change it to chunk 0.
make sure add as new is clicked or you will get an error message. then click "add" you should click yes and the window should close out. now we need to re-open chunk adder but instead of opening lets say gemini this time we will open gemini.map (or for non windows XP users gemini.map.map) now with this open we will do the same steps as before but instead of adding a trigger to the sword we will be adding a projectile.
keep doing the steps as before but this time under other reflexive click the weapon that you want and your melee weapon will shoot that projectile. Now you are done. you should now have a map named gemini.map.map (or for non windowsXP users gemini.map.map.map) delete gemini.map now and baclup gemini or delete it (which ever you choose but make sure its not in the same folder or has the same name as gemini.map.map). Now rename gemini.map.map to gemini (or rename it gemini.map for non xp users). now if you want to change which trigger the projectile fires out rather its R or L or B we need to open it up in ADI and with the newest weapon plugin open up sword and go down to firing type 0 and then click which button you want it to shoot with. then save and close the map. Now fix encrytion and sign the map and ransfer it to your xbox. now if the trigger is R hold it down (sometimes R is not the best trigger) if its L press it or if its B you may or may not need to hold it down. either way you just shot a projectile out of your melee weapon .
