[H2] Using the Screencap trainer if your games are in /F

Post by gruntboy »

*This tut is for someone with an EvolutionX dashboard. It may work with other dashboards as well if you use common sense. Also, you will have to know how to get it working if you have problems with it because of the Auto Update, thats not covered here.*

I was having a lot of trouble with this. I have a mod chip and did not softmod, so my games are in the /F, or F drive of my xbox. To get the screencap trainer to work, you will need Xored Trainer launcher, which is linked In the screencap post. Once you have that dowloaded, open the archived file. Then, open up the folder called mini. You will see a file in there called Xored ini. Open that up. Now look down just a little and you should see

# 20 game folder or xbe paths max
Games_Path1 = "F:\Games"
Games_Path2 = "E:\Games"

change it to look like this

# 20 game folder or xbe paths max
Games_Path1 = "F:\HDDLoader\PxGame0\default.xbe"
Games_Path2 = "E:\Games"

notice I left the /E Games the same. Also, your Halo 2 might not be PxGame0, it might be PxGame1 or 2, etc. Just check with your FTP program by going to /F, HDDLoader and looking. Now, save the file. when you exit the file, it should say

File "Xored.ini" was updated
Do you wish to update it in the archive?

Click yes. Now, connect to your xbox with your FTP program. Navigate to you /C, or C drive on your xbox with the FTP program. Make a new folder called Trainers. Open up your screencap package, and drop the two .etm files in this folder. Open your Xored trainer launcher archice. Now, navigate to your /F drive on the xbox with your FTP program. Go to apps. Drop the mini folder from the archive in the apps folder. Now reboot your xbox. Now pick up your controller. Go to apps. You should now see somewhere in there a program calles Xored Trainer Launcher. Enter it. If there is an intro thing just press A. If there isn't it doesn't matter. Now it should bring up a list of games it detected. If you did it right it will detect Halo 2. highlight it and press A. There is a file in the next screen that says Halo 2 Developers Edition (v1.3) Highlight it and press A. Now, You come to a sreen that allows you to enable stuff. Enable what you want. When you are done, Press Start. It should come to a black screen and then Halo 2 should start playing. Congratulations, now you can take screenshots! If you have problems of any sort, I will be able to help you, just AIM, PM or MSN Message me.
