Halo UI

BEFORE YOU READ ANY FURTHER, BE SURE YOU KNOW THAT THIS APP IS ONLY MENT FOR XBOXES WITH LARGE HARDDRIVES! SMALL HARDDRIVES WON'T BE ABLE TO HOLD ALL THE MAPPACKS THIS APP CAN RUN

Ok, so you are probably wondering what the hell this is right? Well, what it is is a menu for those people who went and downloaded most if not all the Halo 1 and Halo 2 mappacks. This is basically an organiser so that your Xbox dashboard isn't clustered with Halo 2, Killtrocity, Killtrocity v.2, Halo 1, Halo CCE, Halo MAPS, Halo CXE, Halo NMP, and so on. This will make it so there is simply, "Halo UI" and then all your other games.

So, this UI launches all the mappacks listed below:

Halo CCE
HALO MAPS
HALO MAPS v.2
Halo CXE
Halo NMP
Halo NMP Cut
AC's Conversion Pack
Killtrocity
Killtrocity v.2
Halo 1 unmodded
Halo 1 Hacked
Halo 2 unmodded

Be sure you know that THIS DOWNLOAD DOES NOT ACTUALLY COME WITH THE MAPPACKS! You have to find and download them on your own.

About Halo Hacked:

This is just the regular Halo 1 maps, only it has an added incentive. Click down the crouch and zoom buttons quickly to bring up a hacks menu. You use the directional pad to navigate and left/right on the D-pad to enable/disable. Once you are done, click the crouch and zoom again quick to go back to the ingame view. To use this you must be ingame in MP or SP. It won't work on the UI. It will make more sence when you actually see it. Trust me.

What the folders are and what you do with them:

bink-put the xxx.bik files from BOTH Halo disks here
conv-All the maps from AC's Conversion mappack
cxe01-All the maps from the CXE mappack
hal2-all the maps from the Halo 2 disk, unmodded as well as the fonts folder from the disk
hcce-All the maps from the Halo CCE mappack
hmp2-All the maps from the Halo Maps v.2 mappack
hmps- All the maps from the Halo Maps mappack
kil2-All the maps from the Halo 2 killtrocity mappack, and the fonts folder from the Halo 2 disk
kill-All the maps from the Halo 2 Killtrocity v.2 mappack, and the fonts folder from the Halo 2 disk
maps-All the maps from the Halo 1 disk
media-This should be the media folder from the Halo 2 disk. IT MUST BE HERE
nmp20-All the maps from the Halo NMP mappack
nmpc-All the maps from the NMP Cut mappack
Skins-DO NOT TOUCH THIS
UI-This folder has two subfolders: music and images. Don't mess with images. But in music, you can put in your own music that will be played when you are on the UI. mp3, wma, and wav all work, I believe.

This app launcher is also ment to be launched from the F-drive. I will put up a d/l later for the configurations if you want to alunch this from the E drive.

Also on a side note, The clear cache function is to be used on all three drives after using one of the Halo 1 mappacks.

A lot of credit goes to stig87 for making the first one. And I also used some of his images.

Any troubles with this? PLEASE PM or AIM me about it. I will be happy to help.

Also, could someone get pics? I lack the ability to take pics of my Xbox dashboard.

Note to mods: sorry about the music thing. I forgot to take it out when I extracted the folder from my Xbox.

Mappacks may be found at www.game-gateway.com

Sounds pretty cool, but, could we have some screenshots? And what is it that makes this not work with a softmodded xbox? It is possible to put in a bigger harddrive into a softmodded xbox :P

That doesn't sound possible. How do you get an 80 gig HDD without opening up your box?

Anyways, the Halo 1 mappacks you can get from www.game-gateway.com
The two Halo 2 mappacks you get from here.
Its not that complicated. mb I could have said it in a better way. You just use that list of folders above to put in the .map's from various mappacks. The Halo 2 mappacks need the fonts folder like you would for any copy of Halo 2 you put on your HDD. And the media folder is also needed from the Halo 2 disk. Thats pretty much it. Once you have all the mappacks you want, put it in your games folder on your Xbox.

The reason this will do a softmodder no good is cus a softmodder can only hold 1-3 mappacks due to the fact that they have a small HDD. How that one guy is softmodded with an 80 gig, I will never know.

Having a softmodded xbox with a 80gb hdd is very possible. He didn't say he never took his xbox apart. Just because one has a softmod doesn't mean it's not opened. I did my gf's xbox with a 120 gb hdd in it but it's softmodded.

Also, you are missing the download due to illegal distribution.

And do you think you could add a directory for Halo2 modded because that would be sweetness!

very nice job, I like your program a lot. A while ago there was a UI released for halo but it didn't comply w/ halo 1/2 and i never really figured it out. But this one was GREAT! very nice job on the UI-I like how u can put in your own music files to the menu, which has some very sweet pics from halo 3. Thanks a lot, now i don't have like fifty tabs on my menu for halo stuff

This seems pointless, because I could easily create a folder containing those games and run them from there. Folders are easier than this 'program' in my opinion.

when I used the UI though, all the halo 1 files worked fie but when i tried to load anything from halo 2, including the game itself, it would play the intro but then go into the black screen that says the disc is not readable-any ideas?
