First off, this should be in the Gamers Corner. Second, I dislike the PS3. :P It looks like an over-sized waffle-toaster.^-^

Some games on PS3 interest me (I loved the Ratchet and Clank series on PS2), but it's in the same boat as the Wii for me...I can't justify the amount of money it costs for a few games here and there that I like.

Unfortunately I will be forced to buy a PS3 when God of War 3 comes out.

I heard Crysis might be ported onto the PS3 so that interests me a bit.

I have both a PS3 and an Xbox 360. I have to say, there are only a few truly good games for the PS3, but things like COD4 are a lot better on it than on the 360 (I've played on both). Plus, if you can't afford Live, the free online stuff is quite appealing. (But then again, if you can't afford Live, how did you afford a PS3?)

How is the PS3 version of a game better than a 360 version, I've never understood it. The only way that would be possible in my mind is if there was more content on one or another. There would be slight graphical changes, obviously, and the controller layout would be a little different, but I fail to see how there is any major difference that would cause you to say it's "better".

You actually completely missed what was better. The online play.
Graphics were also noticeably better. The default control layout sucked, but you can change that...

How is the online play better then? It's the same game..?

As for the graphics, I'd really like to argue your statement that the PS3 is better. I'd like you to watch this. http://youtube.com/watch?v=eMHBzVzcwoE

After watching that, I notice some aspects of the game look better on PS3, and some better on the 360. The comments basically expressed the same thing, some spoke more highly of the PS3 (ps3 owners, no doubt) and some the 360 (360 owners, respectively). I personally own a 360, but they both look the about same. Overall the PS3 probably is better, but to make such a bold statement saying the PS3 is noticeably better is rather rash.

I've played it on both, and I have no bias on game systems, and I can see a difference. The game play online is better on the PS3 because it's a different group of people.

And that's where my argument ends, I can't base my facts on anything other than video's off youtube and various screenshots. I have not played the ps3 version. The main point I was trying to make is that since I couldn't tell anything from slightly low-res videos, there isn't enough of a noticeable difference in the graphics.

I never really care about the slight differences like that. The online community that I play with is totally different to what America describes (no retarded racists kids).

so if there is a slight graphical difference (although I notice in essentially all games I've seen the 360 has much better contrast/deeper blacks kinda thing which makes the ps3's look slightly washed out)

As for the ps3. Currently its a "what the hell are you thinking even considering it?"

Its expensive...Whilst its had its price cuts, its still more than what I bought my 360 for with 2 controllers and 2 game 2 years ago. That and the only game I would want for it is MGS4 (I love the MGS series so much :)) and Little big planet.

The draw of "free online play" and dedicated servers and free home (despite you having to pay for things to beef up your epersona) has no effect on me. $80 a year for what I use it for and it being so good (yet shitty compared to US) is fine by me.

So really if things change I could consider it, but it depends if the 360 starts being ignored, which it won't.

edit: looking at your original post Im kinda offtopic...Esp since I don't even have cod 4 on xbox! >_> Request to delete me if you wish. I was just explaining my reasoning for not being able to paly you.

well i got the ps3 with the massive 46 inch tv cause we had a crap small tv so that was a good deal then it had free sign up to download demos and play online so thats also a plus, then it has blu-ray and blue tooth so thats pretty cool but also you dont really need it. I've played COD4 on the 360 and it's also very good but i cant tell the difference in graphics. But it's a cool game so i got it.

so i basicaly like both, the xbox consults and PS consults.

That's probably the best thing I can think of for the PS3 that is better than the 360, plus the default HD is a bit bigger.

Though I can easily counter that by saying that games that require blu-ray disks won't be coming out really until the next gen consoles are released, there really isn't a huge need for a bigger HD (I haven't even come close to maxing out my HD) and as for wireless, never needed it.

As for movies, my screen still is small enough not to care enough about them, though the pixelation on many DVDs is fairly obvious, I suppose. If anything, that'd be the biggest reason, but as I mentioned, I don't care enough about it at the moment.
