Rock band controller on PC?

I wanted to use my Rock Band guitar to play Frets on Fire, but I was wondering if there were drivers out there to get it to work? I know you can get the guitar hero controller to work with it.

According to them, Windows should automatically detect the guitar and prompt you to allow it to download drivers automatically as well.

If it's a 360 controller and u already have the drivers it will detect it.

is there a way to get the xbox 360 rockband guitar to work on the pc guitar hero 3? i tried it but only 1 button works ok and all the others dont work at all.

Dunno if this is the problem, but did you assign buttons to actions in the controls?

There is a way to get it to work but it involves using a seperate program that maps out the buttons to specified ones on the keyboard. If I can find the whole tutorial, I'll post the link.

there isnt even an option to assign suttons to commands for the controller. u can only assign keyboard buttons. i tried xpadder but it doesnt even affact GH3

Edit: never mind, i figuered it out. i started the game without the controller plugged in and after the game is loaded, i plug the controller in and then us xpadder to assign the keys
