It's his opinion. God forbid he has one. It's got a bland storyline with mediocre gameplay. I don't think it stands out in any ways at all...it's just another FPS, but it's got more hype than the rest right now so it gets all the publicity.

I found the game to be great judging from the demo. Storyline doesn't matter much to me although I think it's pretty good. Controls are very good and the gameplay has a lot of variation and stays fun. It's not just another FPS in my opinion and the game sure as hell doesn't have as much hype as Halo 3.

Yea I know it's his opinion. I woulda just like to see a reason. Rather than 'it sucked' and that's it. Just furthur into detail.

Overall. It definately deserves all those good reviews.

I disagree. Does BioShock have a console? Viral marketing? A controler? A zune? A "missle case"? Wireless headset? A backpack? Xbox live cards? Console skins? A soda?

I meant hype as in gamers going absolutely crazy over it for no reason. All of those things are Bungie and/or Microsoft's decision for marketing, it's just business. Their decision to make products and capitalize on the hype does not mean it's more hyped than another game (i.e. Bioshock).

These reviews mean nothing at all. By reading the actual text, it's pretty obvious that they didn't really play the game too much, and are just talking about pointless crap the whole time.

The only thing I like is the hard mode.

I dislike seeing ANY game get a 10/10, that includes halo2, gears of war and also this (and whatever other games have it too). I just can't understand their decision. Sure its their opinion but I can never understand how they can come to the conclusion that the game is 100% good, has no flaws and is constantly and consistantly (or exponentially) enjoyable to play even in the bits between action.

It may however give me a slight motivation to spend my money on the game. Whilst I did find the demo enjoyable (albeit not in comparison to the filesize of the download), it didn't make me instintivley reach for my wallet in my pocket like crackdown did.

The water isn't dynamic at all.
In the demo, when the plane crashes through the walkway, the water doesn't react to objects, specifically the player. In addition, the water hitting the door, as well as the sprays in general, are not the slightest bit convincing. Later, the water pours in from a crack in the ceiling. However, it just hits the ground as disappears, while the whole room fills with water coming from nowhere. I feel a game that is based in an underwater location, 90% of the game being around water, should have much better than this sub par, static water with lame effects.

Also, the physics are quite bad. Hitting something with a wrench, something on the ground, sends it flying 500 feet in the air, straight up? I think not. The collision is terrible, after getting out of the bathysphere, you encounter some suitcases. These all have collision about 6 inches bigger on every side, making them float on top of nothing.

Note, these are some very apparent errors, they are not meant to be that way, and they should not be flaunting the water in such a poor state as if it was placed by God himself. They bragged about their water dynamics several times, yet there are none to be seen. Wow, objects float, congratulations. I'm confident that playing the full game would reveal more errors, not less. To say this game is perfect is ridiculous. It is not perfect. Even the 10 minute demo has several clear problems.

The demo did one thing: Exposed this game as being mostly hype. It looks amazing in videos, but when you're actually playing it, it isn't that spectacular. Yes, the controls are great. The combat system is alright. The story seemed rather bland from what was given in the demo. It doesn't stand out any more than a typical shooter, in my opinion. I might get it at some point, but I think I'd need to be pretty bored and have no other game options available (That or if I could get it for like $30 >_>).
