Some of the shaders make me cry: low-res diffusion maps and nothing else.

While right beside it there will be a hi-res texture, with bumpmapping, and a specular map >_<

For those like myself whom haven't progressed very far into the game, has anyone tried to cross the bridges to access other cities? I read online that you have to get so far into the game before they allow you to cross, so trying to get to the left islands earns you an instant 6 stars and a death warrant. At first, this got on my nerves since I hate restrictions. However, after eventually coming to terms that it was for the better, I decided it was a good thing; even great for those who want to get the One Man Army achievement. Which brings me to my next point: Trying to see how far you can get without dying is fucking awesome. My farthest so far is about 4 minutes into the left island. I got further than I was supposed to by far. I had about 1 hit left and I just took off dodging all the sniper shots and swat cars. Let me tell you, it's a rush. :p I'm telling you guys this with recommendation to try it out if you haven't gotten past that part already.

Note: A very easy way to get the 'One man army' achievement is to get past the bridge and dodge all the enemy fire until you get into the city. From there, just chill at a hotdog stand refilling health as you loose it. After 5 minutes of this, the achievement is yours. Or, if you don't like the easy road, doing what I did and simply dodging cops for 5 minutes is great. :D

After driving around the subway for 5 minutes I decide to turn around so I can get back quicker to the island I left (I have 6 stars this whole while). As soon as the car came to a stop and refused to start! I had stalled the engine, or more likely destroyed it XD

The car was not "blown-up" so this was very unexpected, and very unfortunate as it had been a super fast car and I was stranded underground on the far side of a hostile island :o

Soon the cops come pouring down into the tunnel through the station that I had stalled below and started shooting at me. I held them off for awhile with my pistol but soon there where too many and I was running out of ammo so I jump back in the car and try to start it one last time: Niki says "start you piece of shit!" the exact thing I was thinking at the time, and then the car promptly catches fire from the shots being fired at it by the police.

I am now on foot running back to my start location >_<

EDIT: I decided to try my luck on the surface XD I went out shooting, but not before I had gathered some of the Assault rifles from the swat teams I precoded to kill :p

yayz for me.

Or you could just find a helicopter, get the 6 stars, and fly around under bridges (Achievement for that too) while you wait for the 5 minutes. Kill two birds with one stone.

Anybody else have problems when you take michelle out? I get to the destination, but then I can't do anything. And then the only places on my map are the car washes and the strip club

Gets a bit choppy framerate-wise online... Or maybe it was because there were about 30 police cars stacked up and we were shooting at them with rocket launchers and shit. If only I could find a rocket launcher in free play (didn't spawn with weapons).

Either way, I finally did find out how to play multiplayer, that was some crazy crap. We should get a Halomods group going some time...

After 5 and a bit hours of gameplay, this is really starting to grow on me. I don't like taking people out for drinks though. Being drunk on this game is really annoying. >_>

I'm liking the story so far. I wouldn't say I'm very far. Far enough to have to get a new home to put it simply.

However a criticism, I find that Niko is all too willing to do anything despite ending up in such a crappy situation. Like while he has explained himself so far to a degree, it doesn't make too much sense to me. I'd be pissed, but not go out and do everyone's business on the day I arrive from a boat....

But I guess I wouldn't be doing anything at all if it wasn't the case and I'd be kinda bored.

I love car crashes in this :D

Scotty, but only when they're somewhat predictable. When I go flying off a bridge and land on a gas station, well, that generally causes me to fall off my chair :o

I'm probably about 7% into the game.

They definitely liked that Kanye West song Flashing Lights though, I hear it all the time on Beat.

I was taking Michelle out on a date and had just jacked a nice new umm... car with name of that racing game... before picking her up. The first thing she does is remark: "Nice car, I love it!" and then I promptly drove over a bridge and pancaked the top. She screams: "Owww my back", and I proceed to die with laughter.

There's a reference to Maddox on the radio and a reference to Real Ultimate Power on television. Cool.

After playing the game, I realized that the game kinda disappointed me a little bit. There were so many things you could do in San Andreas than in GTA4. You could work out at a gym, get enormously fat, change your hair, and XP boosts.

Yeah, they took out all the crap that was unnecessary to GTA. They did it right again. Here's where you should be going.
