I think the Gamecube controller is the best. The other controls are hard to get used to.

The game kicks fanny. Lovin Ike's final smash. :D

Indeed. Actually.. Along with the bottom review, I think I will actually start playing through the game and get some pictures for everyone. Afterwards I'll write a simple review. I love this game.

I used the Wiimote and Nunchuck. Felt surprisingly like the gamecube controller other than getting used to the slightly awkward position of the arrow pad. Once you memorize the buttons you're set. So far my only main problem with the game are some of the aesthetics included in the least visited parts of the game. AA in the Victory screen is really poor, and some of the internal components such as the shaders weren't quite as good as the console can handle.

However I must say, this game is truly impressive. In all honesty is feels more like an upgrade title to Melee, but it's still got plenty of quality content to back itself up as its own title. I'm going to try and get all the characters and beat the campaign a few times today. I'll fill everyone in and get some screenshots if they want. :D Oh, and for those who remain unsure about getting the game, check out Stage 1 of a 3 stage review (still in progress, so keep an eye out for it to finish soon) by my colleague at The Wiire. Sadly I played a couple online matches with Dwells and it was INSANELY laggy. Like unplayable lag. About 1 fps at times and then there was this button lag for the host where you press a button and then 1 second later it would register. Sucked. Hopefully it was only happening because the immense amount of people online...

I heard people had disc read errors (as well as the Japanese version). They say you gotta send your Wii in to fix it. Just throwing that out for anyone that might have the problem.

I had a chance to experience the game fully (by that I mean I played for more than 10 minutes like I did earlier), and it is amazing. Haven't tried online yet, though I hear bad things about lag.

I played 51 matches online yesterday... usually with 3 players in the room... and the lag was never to be unplayable. It was bothersom at the beginning of matches, but after the first 20 seconds or so it got perfect and was amazing.

And to KOH_Church

.... good job playing through the classic campaign, the real campaign took me over 8 hours....

If you bought this game expecting an amazing storyline or campaign mode then you're an idiot sir. The game is all about multiplayer, and it does that INSANELY well... if you have friends. Lucky for me... I have friends so I got to experiance the multiplayer to the fullest.

Also, the coop stuff is awesome. My roommate and I were playing the target smash and home run stuff for hours on end today.

Also, if you haven't tried using the other control schemes (other controllers)... give em a shot... I only had one gamecube controller, and I let my roomie use it... so I was using the Wiimote or the classic controller... it was... interesting :P

The SSE is a lot larger than I thought it would be. It doesn't really have much of a storyline at all, but if you're a Smash fan, you probably don't care. Classic mode is just like the last two games, with the good ol' Master Hand fight at the end. I haven't played online yet (still), but I have two brothers that are more than willing to play.

@llama: Yeah, the Co-op stuff can be really addicting. Fox + Fox on Homerun contest = a very large number of feet. :P

Ness + Ness = over 3K feet in the home run derby hahaha

Get a Ness on each side of him, hold down and mash A facing the sandbag... we got around 230% before hitting him with the bat doing that.

Also, if you hit it with the tip of the bat, it goes further than if you hit with the handle :p

We did exactly the same thing with Fox, and got about 230%, and it went over 3k feet. :)

nah it just this game is way too childish now the unlockables aren't even a challenge any more and they aren't even that good to play with it just gets really boring...8 hours took me 3 for 100% its too easy i played it on easy and medium still only 3 hours no difference. so i went back to gamestop and put the rest of my money on my Rainbow Six Vegas 2 reserver comes out next week!

The harder difficulty settings are there for a reason...
