If they did change that stuff, I don't think it would really be Goldeneye anymore. On the subject of Banjo, I'd rather them focus on the new Banjo than a remake.

I loved playing this game, I'm psyched to see this it unfold.

Hopefully it'll be a PC title, as well.

It would be done by two different teams, as most XBLA games are..

Has there been any XBLA title released on the PC?

On a side note, at GDC, before the Microsoft keynote, they were playing music from Goldeneye.

Nup...Said by Rare it would take away time from Threeie, so they are not doing it.

Soz for being offtopic, I can't really add anymore to the goldeneye subject anymore:P

FUCK YEAH

this should be pretty freakin' awesome, remake or not. i'd love to see how it fares on new technology with a new engine.

speaking of which..... this reminds me of goldeneye: source.... time to check up on that...

The original project was a port. I would dislike a remake with updated technology and such.

I hope they at least offer a "standard" controls option with dual analog/thumbstick/whatever it's called support...I don't wanna hold down RT (or RB, whatever, point is trying to play Goldeneye on an emulator with a 360 controller is horrid) and move the left thumbstick to aim around, nostalgia factor or not it's fucking dumb.

I was unaware of it being an XBLA title. Though, I do blame myself for not reading into it a little more.

In the next issue of Xbox World 360 (caps lock alert: ONSALE NEXT WEDNESDAY - THAT'S THE 27TH FEBRUARY!) you'll find shots and hands-on details on one of the biggest (and most confusing) gaming stories of the year. Read on for more...

Maybe you think you already have all the answers - but have you seen this shot somewhere else? Or do you know what the Right Bumper does? What's become of the Jungle? And what about the multiplayer maps? Tune in on Wednesday to see the whole thing explode. There'll be no satisfying conclusion... but maybe, together, we can take down the whole system. Or, er, change a few minds.

(Oh yeah - and tomorrow? The whole picture.)
:/

If it turns out the mag created all this hype, just later to revalve it's a exclusive story on a canceled game. Thats sad, really sad.

The latest peice.

How cheap is that, they better not reveal it's still cancelled >_> I hope it's something less bad like... for licensing reasons they had to just take out some characters and replace them for look-a-likes or something.

The cancellation story was not hype, it was fact. The project was working, and it was canceled. As I proposed:
Tural wrote:Could it be that public outrage actually got this game back on track?
But yeah, it's looking pretty bad right now, with the whole "No satisfaction" and "change minds" thing. This is shaping up to be an exclusive story on the initial progress, not on a renewed status.

Edit: Here is a revised, correct image I just made:
