i was playing halo and someone told me that XP games will work on vista, is this true?

the games i want to know about are halo,mafia,call of duty 2,gta san andreas,far cry,America's Army and max payne 2.

Well, I know Halo PC Trial doesn't work, I don't own the full version. America's Army does work, but I wouldn't know the rest.
