Gears of War: Worth the Hype?

Naw man, trust me. Put together a LAN party and play multiplayer for a day straight. It got so agonizing, to the point where I just had to sit and watch. Playing it made me feel sick

I just played Gears of War for the first time the other day, and it was really cool. I like the whole idea of finding cover. Although I see how it's apples and oranges when compared to Halo.

When I first played GoW, I was in awe of the graphics and cover features. Then I realized that those two things are really all I like about GoW. The game is really lacking in options. 3 gametypes and like 10 multiplayer maps is not enough to keep me playing the game. GoW (and all other shooters - first person or otherwise) should have every gametype aspect customizable. In GoW, all you can really do is change the time limit, amount of rounds per game, and a couple other insignificant options. Also, multiplayer as a whole is lacking. Without XBL, all you can do is play 1 on 1 games as the game only supports two players on one system. Alot of game do this now - focus on online multiplayer and shaft the offline players. More options and whatnot would make this game a hell of alot better IMO.

i think its worth it. I had so much fun...even though i only played through the campaign once (im saving it for a rainy day) it was pretty fun, but after i beat the campaign i really felt un-satisfied. I beat the campaign in one sitting. A long sitting. But still a sitting. I was hooked. Then i started playing online and i pwnd so many n00bs =P so i decided to keep playing. Is my favorite game for 360 so far.

It was fun, and a good game, but nowhere near as great as everyone expected.

very nice gameplay. in my opinion, defenetly a halo killer.but im used to halo and addicted to every aspect of it.so im sticking with halo.i just thought of something... put a chainsaw bayonet on a shotgun that hangs around the barrel. just imagine it. Stab! HURK! Chainsaw ripping, R-R-R-R-R-R-R! unloading six rounds into the enemy with chainsaws blazing.RUR-R-R-R BAM!R-R-R-R-R-BAM!R-R-R-R-R-BAM!R-R-R-R-R-BAM!R-R-R-R-R-BAM!R-R-R-R-R-BAM!
