Dreams and Reality

What I'm about to explain has all happened recently... within the last week. So, here we go.
Wednesday (February 11, 2009) night, I dreamed that I was in this absolutely beautiful place. The only way I can describe it is to imagine a square building with old, rocky walls (pale/peachy color) with ivory growing around it. There is no top on this structure, it's 1 story tall, and there's columns/pillars that are about 3'-4' from the inside of the walls-out. The top of these columns are connected to the top of the walls via cementish material, creating a hallway of a sort. (
Image) The sun is shining through the top of the building onto a water fountain in the middle that's a statue of some sort... I can't remember what kind. (
Image)
I'm walking down one of these "hallways" with one of my friends from school. He's a guy that I eat lunch with and have a class or two with. Not the kind of person that I would expect to be in my dream. As we're walking down the "hallway," I look to the left and notice that there are curved barred off walls that are sort of like a jail cell door but like half of a circle. Inside there are people with guns and they start to shoot at us. So, we run towards the only exit (which is directly ahead of us) and then we take a left. The people go running by us, and my friend (a little overweight) bends over and says he feels like he's going to have a heart attack (we ran quite a ways.) Then, a girl I've never seen comes out of nowhere. I then proceed to grab her boobs for some reason, and she hits me in my nose... which then starts to bleed. So, I wake up and I feel something on me so I turn on my lamp beside my bed and there's blood everywhere. My nose was bleeding and it was all over my arms and chest. I haven't told anyone about it for the last few days because I've been researching it.
So, here's what I've come across so far: "Bleeding nose in dream means..."
- 1.) There's something wrong with you or someone you know, and you can't do anything about it, but you want to bad.
- 2.) You're worried about something that you're not doing well in, or something that you're not good at that's important.
- 3.) Nose bleeds may symbolize feeling unacknowledged, unappreciated or unnoticed.
- 4.) Nose bleeds can represent a soon forthcoming death to someone who is close to you.
Now, here's where it gets crazy.
1.) My Mom's friend, Sherry Compton, has something called "
Multiple Sclerosis" also known as "MS." Well, I feel really bad for her and I really want to do something about it but I can't. Now, tonight I was in the middle of a game of Halo (almost 2 hours ago) and I heard her fall. This happens many times daily, and usually she just blows it off. Well, I just looked around and looked back at my game (like I normally do... I ask if she's ok too), but this time I heard "Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow..." and I turned around and said what did you hit? I asked again and she didn't reply, and then I asked if she was okay, and she didn't reply again. So, I touched her and told her to look at me and she took her hands off her face and there was blood everywhere. It looked as if she had been shot in the face. She had hit a glass mug that we have that busted her head on the bone right above her eye. Now, at 11:26 PM February 13th, 2009, she's in the Emergency Room and my Mom is waiting.
2.) I'm failing Spanish with a 47%. I thought I did good on a test yesterday, and I made a 65% (F.) I've never even come close to failing a class my entire life.
3.) This was Wednesday night, and my birthday party was last Sat/Sun (7/8.) I expected around 50 friends and only around 14 showed up... around 45 including family. A grand total of two (2) spent the night.
4.) The guy that was in my dream that I was walking with who said he felt like was going to have a heart attack... well, his grand-dad just died of a heart attack Thursday... the day after I had that dream... actually only a couple hours afterwards.
Now, I'm not one to believe in all of the dream/palm/mind reading stuff, but this shit is crazy. Any comments?

DeToX's Story #1 wrote:I remember when I was a kid.. I remember it was late and my dad asked me for the first time to go for a late night ride. This was when I was <= 4. Anyways we're driving this van I used to have.. And some guy breaks hard infront of us, and these plastic chairs come flying out of the back seat and smash the windshield, one goes right over my head. We rent a new car.. don't remember which kind, too long ago. It was a car though, green one, and as a kid I knew all the car names.
Now I don't know what happened from there. I wake up..
I asked my dad if he's gonna drive his new car.. My mom starts looking at me freakishly. She says.. Did you hear us talking about it..
"About what..?"
"The accident."
"What.. I was there.."
"Stop joking around, you fell asleep last night."
"No.. I can prove it. You were driving the van on the freeway and some guy sharply hit the breaks and the plastic chairs flew from the back and hit the front windshield, one right above me when I was sitting in the passenger seat.."
(Of course it was less formal since I was so young but yeah..)
So my parents just stare at me..
I said.. you got a new car to rent.. on the side of the apartment.. it's a green <car name>.
They freaked out.
I don't know how its possible but honestly that night I do not remember being home at the time of the accident. Nor sleeping. I remember it exactly how my supposed "dream" was.
I could never explain it and nor could my parents.

I don't really believe dreams and reality mix.
Just pure coincidental events.

Dreams are produced by your brain, obviously, and as such, can be indicative of happenings in your life. A subconscious set of circumstances being portrayed. There's not much to it, your mind manifests an illusion based upon things you know, things it knows. There's nothing supernatural or whatever here, nothing really remarkable. Common traits among subjects of studies can be correlated to the dreams recalled, just as could be done with a study on anything. It's not like the people who produce the dream analyses are reading minds, they (Well, the non-fraudulent ones) are correlating events to dreams as they occur to people in their studies. Nothing 'fucking crazy' about it, really.
Number four is a statistical anomaly, an outlier. You didn't predict the future. If you considered how many times you hear 'heart attack,' or 'car crash,' or other similar event in context and then someone you know experiences something similar, you'd probably find a correlation quite often. It's mere coincidence. You're not a prophet.
Detox was an articulate young man.
Your dad took you out past your bed time and lied to your mother so that she would not be concerned that he had involved you in a car accident. Your parents are big fat liars.
I actually have no idea, nor do I care to delve into it.

... what?
I'm all for those weird dream connections, for example the otehr day apparently i got up grabbing my blanket, walked into my parent's bedroom and said "mom i've got the flag! i've got the flag!... oh... sorry mom... i'll go back to bed now" and apparently my eyes were open the whole time >_>

Actually. I recently had a small dream/reality mix. I dreamed I was at some football game and I walked down the stairs to see a black figure stabbing my sister on the ground. I pushed the figure only to have my hands feel like a billions pins are lightly poking my hands all over. The figure's head narrowed so I inferred it was looking at me. It attempted to slash me with its jittery movements. I flinched and when I opened my eyes the situation was the same but it was very dark around me. The figure attempted to slash me again and I stopped it with my left hand, only to have the black cut my thumb slightly. I looked at the figure and woke up. My thumb stung when I touched it but when I looked at it there was no sign of damage. After the first time I felt this the first 2 times I stopped feeling the sharp stings.

I've found, personally, that dreams are little puzzles our minds create, and solving these 'puzzles' reveal inner truths about ourselves.
At least, some of them do. Others are just plain awkward.
Regardless, I've also come to realize that these dream/reality coincidences happen a bit too often to be considered coincidences. I just accept that the universe works with us in mysterious ways.
Like, really, who knows? We don't consider ourselves close to knowing much about the universe. Consider 'time'. The universe has frequent inexplicable moments that science can't explain. Why not 'time'?
I can hardly tell what I'm trying to say. Mostly that the universe we live in isn't always clear-cut. We know little about it. I'm open to the possibility of God interfering in our dreams; I'm also open to the possibility that time 'hiccups' and takes a part in our dreams.
Regardless, I hope Sherry is OK, thirst.

To me its grabbing at straws. The symbolism stuff you've researched reminds me of those birthday reading things(Aries, Capricorn etc). Intentionally vague so you fill in the gaps mentally to make what its saying relevant.
While whats happened to you isn't the happiest and I'm sorry to hear these things, I don't think your brain predicted these events, then tried to warn you by producing a lot of DMT and splitting open blood vessels in your nose in hopes you'd remember and turn to the internet for research to gain understanding.

Causes and correlations.
It's the most basic of lessons in any Psychology class.
You're dumb.

Suggesting you uncontrollably predicted the future through an obscure series of events with absolutely no relevance until two words were mentioned is not at all subjecting yourself to ridicule.

I had a dream about Steve Irwin the day he died.
Then again, me sleeping near a tv while they were broadcasting his death didn't help.

Dreams and Reality have been a subject of much debate though many of the ages. In the end there is no answer. Not even Tural or Veegie can answer it.
Reality is nothing more then how the Brain perceives the world. Dreams in turn is worlds Reality made with out rules ( least none that I know of)
Tural and Veegies Reality conflicts with your reality ( or is it the other way around). As Such... there is conflict. That is a whole 'nother subject all together.
This can go on and on intill we reach impasses and Paradoxes to the Nth Degree. All that can be said is to take with a grain of salt and move on. ( Unless you wish to continue with this... Philosopher topic)

If someone believes in the celestial teapot, it can be debated, despite there being reason and mutually supporting evidence. You can say 'Nobody can answer it' about everything, you know. Considering the proposition is that predicting the future is possible through dreams, despite there being no real connection other than two words, with the rest having absolutely nothing to do with the event, evidence and reason would suggest that it is not what actually happened. Of course Veegie and I can't answer it, because nobody can really answer anything, now can they? What I see here is superstition and illogical, unreasonable assertions. Just because someone believes something can happen, despite not being able to validate it in any way whatsoever does not make their claims equal in validity to their opposition. All views are not equal, here, and for you to assert that simply believing you can predict the future is on-par with evidence suggesting you cannot, and that there is a perfectly reasonable explanation for what really happened, is completely ridiculous (But I guess I should not be surprised by this, given who I'm talking to).

Drop acid with a couple of friends. Then your dreams will be CrAzY
I think dreams are strange. You can experience something in a dream, then experience it in real conscious state years later. I'm not saying they can show you the future, but it is pretty interesting. My Psychology teacher told us there was this radio dj a while back. He didn't sleep for a few days, and the lack of sleep caused his dreams to appear to him while in the studio. Supposedly he saw a particle of dust turn into a tiny dinosaur, and when he opened a file cabinet he thought fire came out. Not sure if it's true though.
Also I've had my nose bleed in a dream. But I really don't think it means anything, especially if nose bleeds are common. It's just your body reacting to whats happening in real life and showing it to you in your sleep.

All of the stuff in your dream is just like most dreams: Random shit.
The fact that your nose was bleeding when you woke up could be due to stress, and it manifested in your dream as you were having it. That's hard to tell, though, because time goes much differently in your dreams. That whole dream scenario could have played out in your head in 5 seconds.

it was a dream, nothing more.
your nose started bleeding in the night (it's happened to all of us at least once), and you sensed it because of the blood on your face and sheets. Because you were dreaming, your brain perceived the sensation of a bloody nose as part of the dream, so it showed up in your dream. You then woke up, and saw that you had a bloody nose. The order of events from your perspective suggested your nose bled in the dream first, so that's the first thing you thought of when you woke up and saw the blood; "holy shit, this just happened in my dream!".
there's no reason to jump to silly conclusions when you can deduce what happened with logic.
although, speaking of dreams, I had the most vivid dream I've had in a while a few nights ago. Something along the lines of me living in a repressive authoritarian society, can't remember any specific details.
